Porsche 944 S2 (1990) Track Car - Rolling Chassis Only
I am reluctantly selling my track prepared Porsche 944 S2 as an ongoing project, as I just don’t have the time to get it sorted. The car is currently off the road (SORNed), has no MoT and the engine is removed. This auction is therefore for the rolling chassis only, which benefits from some nice modifications, making it an ideal project car for someone looking to either refit a standard S2 engine, or perhaps consider a Turbo project, or even a V8 conversion... The car is currently dry stored in my garage, and has been for some time. The car is a 1990 model fitted with private number plate that will stay on the car. I have spent a lot of time, effort and money over the last few years of ownership sorting out all of the mechanical and age related gremlins, so it is now in really good condition and benefits from the following track orientated modifications: Suspension & Wheels Gaz Gold coilover kit, including 600lb rear springs (equivalent to torsion bar + helper spring on standard kit)Torsion bars professionally removed from rear axle, including new steel inserts used on race cars to ensure axle rigidity is retained. This set up allows full adjustment of rear spring mounts and therefore accurate corner weighting, ride height and handling set up on the carGaz Gold solid front top mounts (adjustable for camber)Front upper strut brace in aluminiumPolybushes to front wishbones and front & rear ARBsRear axle completely removed to fit poly bushes to trailing arms and to replace solid brake linesFront ARB triangulation brackets fitted to strengthen ARB and improve handlingReplacement (adjustable) rear drop links to allow further set up options18mm wheel spacers on all four wheelsRefurbished Design 90 alloy wheels (7”/8”) fitted with 225/50 & 245/45 Toyo T1R road tyres that have had very little wear Brakes

It’s obviously hard to value a rolling chassis against other running cars that may be available, but I have tried to set the cost to suit the many costly modifications undertaken on this car and it’s general condition. An engine is all that is required to have this great handling and genuinely adjustable car back on the road and track.
