vehicle description:

The time has come for me to part with my pride and joy, a Porsche Boxster S 550 Spyder Anniversary Edition, 2004 04 reg. I have owned it for around 18 months and have used it as a third car, only doing around 1500 miles in that time.
Limited edition number 1343 of 1953 ever made. Only 155 in right hand drive.
**The extra spec of this edition is listed on a Porsche memo at the end of this advert.**
Lovely car finished in GT silver, the only Boxster finished in this colour, with black (natural) full leather interior. As you can see from the pics, it looks fantastic! It has a black hood with the heated rear screen and heated hard back sports seats. PSM and cruise control are fitted as standard, as are M030 lowered suspension, wheel spacers and short throw gear change. The car is in excellent condition, with only a few minor marks on it. It has a BOSE uprated sound system with 6 disc changer factory fitted from new., and I recently replaced the rear discs and pads. The mileage is very low at 37600. Only 2 previous owners.
It was serviced at Porsche Centre Guildford at 7510 miles (minor), 9724 miles (minor), 11916 miles (major), and 15759 miles. There is then a gap in the service book during the ownership of the second owner, where  it may have been serviced during this time, just not recorded. I then had it serviced shortly after I bought it at 36472 miles by my usual garage.
I decided at 36947 miles to have the IMS bearing checked for peace of mind, and put it into a local Porsche Specialists. The outcome was that the car already had the latest uprated style of IMS bearing, which isn’t changeable, and latest style of RMS, so they put a new clutch in as requested whilst it was apart, and rebuilt it. This is detailed on the invoice for £778.
Their opinion was that it was a newer type 987 engine, and suggested I make enquiries with Porsche UK. I made contact with the original keeper, as Porsche wouldn’t give any detail without his permission. He replied stating that the original engine had failed in 2010 with IMS failure, after he’d owned the car from new, and that a new engine had been fitted by Porsche Centre Guildford. He gave permission for Porsche to give me full details and I now have the invoice from Porsche for almost £10,600 for the new engine. This was fitted at 15162 miles, so has currently done around  22500 miles. A further bonus is that the 987 3.2 engine has 280 bhp, instead of the 266 bhp the car had when new.
The car drives really well, it feels like a new car.
The interior is in almost perfect and still smells like new.Wheels are very good and the tyres  are all matching Avon’s all 6mm plus of tread. It is MOT"d until September 2016.
Full Porsche book pack with original service book stamped up, and two keys.
Now for the not so good bit.
The car was lightly damaged and repaired in 2012 and may be recorded as a cat D. I say “may be” as I was informed by the seller that it was, but my check upon purchase via “mycarcheck.com” only listed the changes of the number plates, and didn’t show it as being an insurance write off at all. In any event it was very minor damage, see below.
**I"ve just checked it again via mycarcheck.com on the private plate H10FTH that I had on it which is with DVLA being removed and it still shows not recorded as being written off.**
At that time it was a one owner car from new, with very low mileage. The original owner confirmed to me during the email about the engine that he had the misfortune of hitting the branches of a small tree that had fallen across the road after a storm, which caused damage to the bonnet, windscreen and front wings. The insurance company chose not to repair it, and the second owner then bought it and had it repaired. He stated that the only parts needing replacement were the windscreen and bonnet. The wings weren’t actually damaged. He owned it for two years, until I bought it.
There are lots of adverts claiming to be Anniversary editions, but there are very few that are the real limited editions like this one. The genuine ones fetch anything from £10000 with 80,000 miles to £15000 with 30,000 miles. My reserve is in keeping with the fact that it may be recorded as Cat D.
I have the printouts from both mycarchecks that I have performed.

ATLANTA, GA, Nov. 21, 2003 - Porsche® has announced the creation of an exclusive 2004 Boxster S model designed to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Porsche 550 Spyder. To be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in early January 2004, the new 50 Years of the 550 Spyder Boxster S reflects the spirit of one of Porsche"s most famous models. The Boxster is styled after the 550 Spyder, with similar bodylines, mid-engine roadster configuration, low weight, excellent agility, and a high level of driving pleasure. The new commemorative Boxster S further reflects this classic Porsche model with performance enhancements and additional styling cues not previously available on Boxster models.
For added performance, the new Boxster S edition is equipped with the most powerful engine ever offered in the Boxster model line. Rated at 266 horsepower, the 3.2-litre flat-six cylinder power plant propels the car from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds, and to a top speed of 165 mph. M030 suspension, 5 mm-wide wheel spacers on all four wheels, and standard 18-inch Carrera wheels improve handling, while a 15 percent shorter shift travel in the standard six-speed manual transmission provides quicker gear shifting.
As most 550 Spyders were painted silver, the new special edition Boxster S is finished in GT Silver Metallic, a colour only found on the Carrera GT and 40 Years of the 911 models. The soft top is in Cocoa, a dark brown colour used by Porsche for the first time. For additional visual emphasis, wheel spokes are painted in Seal Grey, (silver is a no cost option) a coloured Porsche crest adorns each wheel hub cover, and the monoblock brake calipers have an aluminium paint finish. Other exclusive exterior styling features include silver-painted grills above the rear strut openings, a specially created stainless steel tailpipe, chrome plated and polished Boxster S lettering on the rear deck lid, and safety bar padding that matches the car"s interior.
Cocoa and GT Silver dominate the car"s special interior with matching carpet and floor mats featuring the Porsche script logo. The centre panels of the standard heated seats, handbrake lever, gear lever gate, ball-shaped aluminium gearshift knob, inside door handles, and padded sport steering wheel are covered in Cocoa coloured leather. The rear section of the centre console, handbrake lever, grooved bar on the dashboard, switch panel, and the back of the safety bars are painted in GT Silver Metallic. Instruments are uniquely styled with black faces surrounded by chrome plated decorative rings.
Other standard features include Porsche Stability Management (PSM), an on-board computer, Litronic headlamps with dynamic beam angle adjustment and a cleaning system, and a wind stop. The Tiptronic® S automatic transmission system, GT Silver seat back shells, and Dark Gray natural leather interior (at no extra cost and with corresponding black top and carpets) complete the short list of options.
