This 1400cc Rover 25 has only done 25060 miles, BUT HAS A FAULT - I have been asked to sell it by its last lady owner. It drives fine down the road at higher revs, however it has a miss at tickover revs - the miss disappears at higher revs - I have replaced the Plugs for her but she doesn"t really want to spend any money on it. I personally suspect (but don"t know) that it might be a valve that is blowing at low revs but not at higher revs.
I have also tried a different coil substituting on two out the four coil packs, (on the end of the engine that seems to have the miss), but gave up in the end.
Anyway, the car starts well, DOES tickover with the miss and drives fine once you are actually driving, however it has sat in the drive for a while and has no MOT (will fail on tickover emissions due to the miss), so I presume you will need a trailer to take it away. The bodywork etc is in good nick the inside needs a vacuum, but that"s the way she left it..
It has power steering, sunroof, Rover radio/cass, remote central locking, decent tyres and alloys... the miss could be a simple fix but it"s not mine so I"ve given up on it, someone else might be lucky..!.. anyway, at a £30 starting price someone may well get a low-mileage bargain.
The car is in Southbourne between Emsworth and Chichester on the South Coast.
