Here we have a 2004 Renault Espace 3.5 V6 Petrol with LPG Conversion. It is currently under SORN. Lots of paperwork, history and previous MOT"s. The LPG kit cost £1400 (paperwork and receipts to prove) I spent the best part of a year looking for one of these cars, with the spec that this car has; panoramic roof, leather, LPG, Nissan engine etc. It has been sitting on my driveway for a while, as we were reluctant to let it go, but we have just purchased a new car, therefore, no time to fix. No MOT-run out July 2016 - will need front tyres for new MOT. It has done just over 100,000 miles. Everything was fine with the car, until, one of my children left the interior light on in the car. Which resulted in a flat battery, the battery was put on charge but since then, there has been an immobiliser issue. When you push the start button on the car, there is a solid red light, which in turn, doesn"t allow you to start the car. We took it to a local garage where they believe it has lost a signal from the UCH module, but that"s not 100% definite, so will need investigation. BUT up to that point, it was our family car, used for school runs, weekend football etc, and running like a dream. We previously had the Grand Espace 3.0 litre diesel which was engine problematic, but a great car, so that"s why we purchased this, as it has Nissan reliability. We have replaced this car with a Volvo XC90, which hasn"t got a patch on the Renault, but unfortunately, we cant find another Renault with the same spec, as a rule of thumb, there are no more then 2 Renaults (with the Nissan engine) in this country at the same time. It had brand new front discs and pads fitted, very recently. Its a chain driven engine, so no timing belt issues to worry about! It will need a trailer to be removed.
