vehicle description:
Reva G Wiz Electric Car Zero Tax, No Congestion Charge For sale is our very low mileage, very good condition dc G Wiz. We have had it for three years, but due to detached retinas in my eyes it has been very little used, and only done 8277 miles. It has leather seats, alloy wheels, and air-conditioning. It has always been serviced, and always passed its MOT. Before putting up for sale we had it checked over by EV Workshops, and they report everything is fine. It has four seats, all with seat-belts, and a hatch-back that allows you to use the rear area for storage, with the seat-back down. The batteries are in excellent condition, and have been maintained by electric boat specialists The Thames Electric Launch Company. The first thing they did was to fit a battery master switch in the supply from the batteries. They diagnosed that the principal problem with the G Wiz is that its batteries run down when it is not being used. This is caused by the dc:dc converter which takes 48V from the main batteries, and delivers 12V to the lights, horn etc. This is connected all the time, even when the ignition switch is turned off. It draws a continuous small current, 0.4A, which does not seem much, but over 24 hours it amounts to 10Ah. Over a week it is 70Ah. Since the batteries are only 200Ah, this means they will be completely discharged in 3 weeks. Even if you leave them for 3 days between charging up, they lose 15% of their capacity. When this happens, the plates sulphate, ie the lead turns to lead sulphate. Even if you plug the charger in they never recover, so gradually lose all their capacity, even if the car is not being driven. They also regularly charged the batteries with a high-frequency conditioning charger. This delivers a pulse current, which breaks down any sulphating that has formed. The proof of their success is that when the car was driven to its latest MOT, three weeks ago, it covered the 38 mile round trip, at full throttle on open roads, and still had 25% showing on the battery meter. If you want proof of the range, we would be happy to take you for a drive round Berkshire. The car has a few scratches, as you would expect with a town car, but nothing major. We think £1750 is a fair price, as the batteries alone are worth £1200, but we are open to offers. We can arrange to have it delivered for 50p per mile each way. Or it fits into a medium wheelbase transit van. £100 deposit by Paypal. Balance on collection. Call us on 07703 218906.
