vehicle description:
Here we have my lovely condition Rover 100 Knightbridge SE. 1.1 litre engine - and with a very low mileage of just over 27300...the MOT shows the last few years of mileages to back this up too ! This is NOT your usual metro/100 rot box, because the rear wheelarches have been done already, and externally the car is in excellent condition. Being really picky, the front edges of the front wings where it meets the bumper there is a smidgen of small bubbling, but not enough to make me repaint it! Of course it is 18 years old so it simply cannot be "out of the showroom" - nothing is at that age, but the pictures do not lie...there are of course the odd minor small marks here and there but you have to look hard to see them.... the overall impression of the car is "wow" though....please do read on.
The tyres are all brand new, and a quality BF Goodrich make also. The engine runs sweetly and I have already had the revised Multi-layer head gasket fitted, to prevent any issues that these can suffer with - not that it had failed I might add, I just replaced it to be 100% sure. At the same time I fitted a new water pump, replaced the cambelt, and gave it a full service, engine flush and new oil, new plugs and fuel/air/oil filters, new gaskets fitted, coolant hoses replaced, coolant flushed and re-antifreezed.... so mechanically it is also tip top. So, basically - all the expensive bits that these cars tend to suffer from have all been done so you wont have too spend the cash.
It drives very well indeed, with smooth gears and excellent brakes. Equipment wise, it has central locking ( yes that all works just fine too) a glass sunroof, radio and CD player, lovely cloth trim in excellent condition with no tears or marks, a great headlining, good carpets and over-carpet mats are also fitted. Economy is great too from this lively 1.1 "k" series engine, so low running costs are assured.
Internally, I have had the car fully valeted and cleaned, and also fitted genuine wood dash inserts to make it look smart, ( the steering wheel cover can be removed if you prefer, I got it for next to nothing in any event ) I replaced the keyfobs with brand new ones ( I have two sets of keys also ). It has been fully "t cut" and polished outside - and it stands exceptionally well. On the road it drives spot on smooth, quiet and hardly any of the usual rattles you get with these cars! I had the rear shelf/supports area sealed and numerous sound deadening measures fitted to quieten these usual "metro" noises to a very large degree, so it sounds good on driving, is smooth and refined. I have waxoiled all of the internal cavities - the insides of the doors and the inner wheel arches, and also the sills inside too. I also had the underbody steam cleaned, fully cleaned up and re undersealed. I also fitted a set of wheelarch edge protectors which smarten them up and protect against further stone chip damage. The engine bay has been thoroughly cleaned also. And have just fitted a new exhaust with stainless steel tip too, so all spot on there ! Tracking has been reset, suspension reset, the four grease points filled with new grease, the wheel trims cleaned and repainted, new chrome inserts fitted to both of the bumpers, new exterior badges fitted, new headlamps, four mudflaps, new windscreen rubber surround etc etc... the list goes on...so the looks do not deceive you, it really stands out from the normal used and tired examples. I have spent quite a sum in time (and money) getting it to be this good ( as I do with all my cars) so hopefully the new owner can just enjoy it ....
I bought this car is December last year, having spent ages trying to get the best one I could...but it is now surplus to my needs alas and I am moving home soon and I need the space ( I have an old jaguar XJ but I just cannot bear to part with that! ) so a genuine reason for sale.
You are welcome to drive the car and inspect it natrually, for I am convinced you wont find a better one. I am not asking silly money either - bearing in mind all the expensive bits have been done already, this car represents great value all the same. When buying an older car they ALWAYS cost big sums of money to "put right" and to refurbish, but this car has had all of those big costs already done, - even though I sourced the best one I could get at the time - so you should not need anything major doing for quite a while to come. Just jump in drive and enjoy. Of course any car will need a degree of fettling as time goes on, so the trick is to get one that has had the bulk of the work already done, and this one now has. ...it is worthy of showing at car clubs too as it is a smart tidy example with a super-low mileage. Rumour has it that these are getting scarce and values are already on the rise, so this is a really good opportunity perhaps?
Also worth noting is my own feedback rating, which is 100% - and always has been - and over many years. Please DO take a look at it as I have sold a select few cars/caravans - even a moped via ebay over the years, and everyone - without exception - has commented that they were thrilled with their purchase, and the vehcile was "better than they imagined" etc....so you too can buy with confidence. I have set a "buy it now price because lets face it - in an auction everyone just wants to know the reserve, so this way you know what is what - up front, I cannot be fairer than that. I have also set a "make me an offer" proviso aswell, but of course if you offer me a silly price you will not be buying this car. I have always been fair an up front in my dealings - and hope that you will be too.
Anyway, please make contact if you want to view in person, I am in Coventry in the heart of the midlands, so reasonably close to "everywhere".... I do drive the car so the mileage will go up a smidgen, but not by much.
Thnak you for reading this "epic" but the more you know, the better ! ...... Regards, Richie. .
