Time to sell Roger (the Rover)Registered in my wife"s name but used by my daughter until she went to University - her insurance was non-refundable and runs out in March so we kept the car until she went back after Christmas so she could use it in the holiday. She made some reasonably distant trips in Roger over time with no issues.
We"ve had the car around two and a half years and its been pretty reliable, all we"ve had to do is have a new starter motor.Had an exhaust about 18 months ago.The head gasket was changed in 2013 by a local MG Rover specialist
Good points:Economical, reliable, cheaper to insure than a 1.2 Clio (which was my daughter"s first car until someone ran into her and wrote it off.) Four (five) doors
Bad points:Some rust on the wheel arches - minor but will obviously get worse unless rectifiedSmall ding in the near side front where someone scraped him in the car parkVery small scrape on the offside rear bumper (hmm?)Engine is a bit tappety when cold but OK once warmed upRear washer pump isn"t working - under the front wheel arch behind a closing panel (Changed one on my wife"s Rover 200 that she had several years ago !!! it"s not hard - costs about 15 quid on here just never got round to it)Car needs a run/Battery needs charging as the car hardly gets used - I may take it to work this week to give it a run/charge.
Tyres OK MoT until 12th June 2017 No service history as such comes with two keys and two remote plippersHas original Rover Direct number plates, tax disc holder and rear window sticker so its not been messed about with
