You are bidding on my beloved Rover 75 1.8 petrol connoisseur edition.
As you can see from the pictures both the interior and the exterior are in excellent condition for the age.
No rust at all on the bodywork. Interior and leather immaculate with the exception of the driver"s seat boss (see below).
As it"s a top of the range connoisseur edition there is full leather with cream piping. Heated fully electric seats and electric mirrors.
All electrics work perfectly.
Spare wheel and tools never used.
There is some service history and had it"s last oil service and a new exhaust in April 2017 when it was MOT"d.
Just had two new tyres.
I want to be completely honest so as well as the good bits here are the bad bits:
1. Near side wheel arch has scuff (see photo above). Barely noticeable but have been quoted £50 to get resprayed from body shop.
2. Near side wing has dent (see photo above). Paint not broken so could be knocked out or replacement wings readily available.
3. The drivers seat side boss is worn (see photo above). A common problem.
4. - The big one - I believe that the head gasket may have blown. I am no expert but I know that the K-series engine has a reputation for blowing head gaskets and the engine overheats and smokes on any long journey.
I do not have the time or inclination to repair or replace the engine myself hence why I am auctioning the car.
It may be of interest to someone mechanically minded who could repair/replace the engine.
Equally the car may be of interest for parts. The tyres and spare wheel alone could be sold separately for more than the reserve price but unfortunately I don"t have the space to "break" the car.
I have been offered £70 by my local garage, hence the reserve.
I have tried to be as honest as possible and am more than happy for people to come for an inspection.
