vehicle description:
Royal Blue Rover 75 1.8 Injection 5-Speed Manual . MOT until 19 June 2020.
I purchased this car on 29/06/19 at 69,000 miles. I am the 2nd registered owner. It has given me 2,000 miles of driving pleasure with ZERO issues. The ONLY reason for sale is that me and my girlfriend are expecting our first child and therefore, we are tightening our belts money-wise. I have another car which is more practical for us and I now cannot afford to keep both on the road. I really am sad to see it go.
This car was purchased new in August 2004 by the family I bought it from, and it has been meticulously maintained throughout it"s entire life. I have all the service history to verify this but some of the standout jobs are:
Head gasket replacement with MLS Gasket + oil rail @ 43,678 miles in 2010 - at the same time the timing, PAS and alternator v-belts and rear discs and pads were replaced.
Inlet manifold gasket replacement @ 49,973 miles in 2012.
Coolant pressure temperature sensor replaced @ 62,182 miles in 2015.
Belts replaced again and also front discs, pads and exhaust back box @ 66,412 miles in 2016.
PAS seals replaced @ 68,145 in 2017.
Rad hoses replaced @ 68,607 in 2017.
Battery with 3 year guarantee fitted @ 68,691 in Dec. 2017.
So, as you can see this car has a no-expense-spared maintenance record. Since owning the car, I have changed the spark plugs as there was a misfire on cylinder 1 which is now gone. I have also changed the drop-links as they were "baggy". Suspension is spot on.
It is good on fuel for a big car, and is as luxurious to drive as you"d expect.
Only things I hadn"t got round to addressing yet is the passenger front door lock is on it"s way out. It locks fine on the remote but doesn"t unlock. I have been living with this as all you need to do is open from the inside once you"re in. Refurbished/spare mechanisms can be had for less than £25 online delivered.
Also, if you see the photos, the headlining is beginning to sag. This is because the foam padding material breaks down over time so the fabric separates. This is extremely common with the 75 and other models manufactured around the same time. It doesn"t affect your view at all. Many owners reupholster the headlining themselves or find a later model in the breakers yard and swap them over (which was my plan).
Car starts on the first attempt and fires up good and proper. It comes with the 2 original keys (I"ve replaced the cases as the old button covers were worn). Body work is good, no rust, few scuffs and marks as you"d expect on a pre-loved 15 year old car.
The O/S/F tyre has an extremely slow leak at one spot on the inside rim, I just keep an eye on the pressure but it only loses about 1psi every two weeks. It is not a puncture, I took the wheel off and put it in a bath of water to test. All it would need is the tyre refitting as there"s 1,000"s of miles of tread left on all 4 tyres.
Air conditioning is in fully working order.
I took the old radio out as it was broken and installed a Sony Bluetooth unit which I will include in the sale, it"s a quality little radio.
You are most welcome to come and view the car, just send me a message to arrange. Also feel free to call on 07866475857.
Mileage will increase slightly as car is in use daily until sold.
Relisted due to time wasters who don"t even have the decency to get in touch after agreeing to purchase.
