vehicle description:
Righto, Here we have my poorly sick Rover 75 Connie SE. I bought her via the 75 Owners website in December 2014 and we had a lovely time together. She had some trying times. The sunroof motor burnt out due to the fact the interior screen is broken causing the mechanism to stick. I"ve replaced the motor so at least the sunroof can operate.
Sat Nav unit suffered water damage so is no longer working.
CD player stopped working so I stripped it and voila, she works again.
But I just took these as small incidents on the path to comfort and the ability to waft up and down the M6.
Until early May 2015 when en route to work she decided to overheat on me.
I had to be brought home by the RAC, whom diagnosed head gasket failure. As I"m a member of the 75 owners forum I sought their expert help. The advice on there suggested it was a failure of the thermostat, as head gasket failure, whilst not unheard of, is fairly rare in the V6.
So, I replaced the thermostat and all seemed well. For a week or so at least and then I noticed she was loosing coolant, and there was a whiff of coolant in the air.
So, this was the straw that broke the pRoverbial camel, and she is now for sale.
She looks great (from 10 foot away) but up close as she is black she shows her battle scars. Perhaps the worst is the rear nearside door is a different shade to the rest of the car. To my eternal shame I"d never noticed until someone politely pointed it out, but then I"d bought her off pictures and after all, she didn"t cost the earth.
I"ve tried to show her scars as best I can.
She has really nice Meteor alloys which were refurbed before I purchased her. She has heated seats that work, as do the powerfold mirrors. As can be seen, she has the Hi Line system, I"ve disconnected the broken Sat nav. Apparently, the previous owner fitted the wiring for cruise control.
Below I"ve copied the original add from late last year.

So, she has to go. As to reliability, I"ve left her running on the drive and she does not overheat, but she does lose coolant from somewhere.
So, she is spares or repair, I offer no guarantee on aspect of the car. Hence the start price.
