vehicle description:
Welcome to the auction for my Rover 75.
Sorry - but firstly - if you have less than 10 feedback, please contact me BEFORE you make any bids (been burned before and it"s cost me sales and money. Sorry cos I know we all have to start somewhere)
Breaks my heart to part with it but we quite simply have too many cars on the drive at the moment and something has to go.
When I say, "has to go", there"s no pressure, so no scope for turning up and trying to haggle! sorry.
I"ve been the very happy owner for several years.I haven"t stuck a great deal of miles on it as we have other vehicles and this has very much been my "baby".
The car I use for work when I feel like cheering myself up!
The colour is mainly silver, but it has a blue edge to it somehow. It"s not standard silver. The light obviously makes a difference,
The cockpit is simply a very nice place to be (especially at night when all the lighting"s on. All backlit with red - console is loaded with buttons and switches etc... very nice to look at)/.
The car has been designed to appeal to the older generation really (like me!). It"s very retro and there"s a lot of old school features. Cockpit is loaded with piped leather, walnut, and there"s a lot of chrome around!
Fully loaded! Electric everything. Climate control, so you can set your own and your passengers (front) heat settings to suit, Air con (this may need re-gassing in fairness).
The seats are heated and electric movement. Passenger with two dimensions, Driver four I think (with memory). (I"m missing a button off one of the drivers seat controls. The control is still in place but the actual knob has fallen off (in the last month. May be under the seat somewhere but I couldn"t find it. If I was keeping it, I"d pop down the scrapyard - or even look on ebay)
The rear seats are like new. The fronts are in good condition, although the bolster on teh drivers seat could maybe do with some leather treatment. No splits or stitching requirements, but maybe some cream and maybe a little polish. Nothing horrendous though.
There"s even a button which triggers a rear-window sun-shield for the kids. One touch and a blind comes up!
Has some nice "useful" features:
variable intermittent wiper speeds
If you turn the engine off before the lights, the lights stay on long enough for you to walk up the drive before cutting out
When it"s raining, if you pull up at junctions, the wipers automatically go one setting down (so if on double speed, they revert to normal, If on normal, they click back to intermittent)
The stereo has fantastic sound quality - so much so that I"ve never considered swapping it out,
Even has a cassette deck still (retro!) and yep - I still have cassettes!
Has a six-speed auto-changer in the glove box (no - you don"t have to get out and open the boot!)
Very spacious boot.
All the wheel kit is intact and present.
Alloys all round. Not too shabby (it"s done 113000 miles nearly!). Locking wheel nut on each.
Good boots all round too. I replaced the fronts last year (after advisories on MOT) and both rears this year (again - after advisories on MOT),.
Rears have done hundreds, not thousands. Fronts? Maybe 1500 miles - if that!
Underneath all solid. No rust to speak of, Exhaust and brakes all good.
Just done all fluid checks and all sound and good.
MOT in August - and only a few hundred miles since then.
Just had it Valeted today - so it"s pretty much squeaky clean as well.
Body-work sound. No problems with wheel arches or anything like that.
Starts first time - every time and I manage over 30 mpg which isn"t bad for a 2 litre petrol V6!
Runs smoothly.
At point of sale (I obviously can"t predict the future!).... all running ok.
V6 so none of the famous K-series 4 cylinder head gasket issues.
Engine sound.
I replaced the clutch when I bought it and it"s still sharp as heck.
Gearbox feels tight and smooth.
No smoking.
Doesn"t burn much oil.
Just had cooling system flushed and new set of anti-freeze.
Just had oil change too.
Bad bits:
the trims inside the passenger compartment - carpet covers on inside of the sills? The previous owner had them off for some reason, but the clips to fix them back in have cracked so I"ve left them off.
The clips are the round plastic ones that pop into the holes - then push down. They have cup tops that fit into "lips" in the trim - so push fit. I did look on ebay but never got around to buying them. Up to you if it"s important,
And the bit that may be a turn-off for you is that there"s a scratch down the passenger side of the car, I bought it like it (because it didn"t bother me and still doesn"t) with eyes open.
It doesn"t show too much (in my opinion) but does affect both passenger doors and slightly onto the rear wing.
Looks like maybe someone"s handbag scuffed down it in the supermarket.
Tried to show it in the final picture anyway.
Only one key as well unfortunately, and it"s not in great shape. The remote buttons are toast!
The central locking has a mind of it"s own unfortunately. If you"re sat in the car, the central console button will lock them all and happily unlock them all.
However, it won"t work outside the car.
The key will unlock everything, but won"t lock it.
So, you have to pop the buttons down when locking.
No great shakes when you get used to it - but thought I ought to mention it.
That"s about it!
Tried to be as honest as I can (check agt998 and agt999 if you want to check more feedback history. I started this account (agt997) to get my daughter going on ebay).
