vehicle description:
This Saab has been looked after well and has lots of bills, service records etc. to support the mileage and condition. The car has a full service history with the last service being done at 116k and the car is now on 126k so only 10k since then. There are two keys which both have working remotes for the alarm. The velour interior is in nice condition with no tears or rips etc. and the boot is spacious with the spare and all tools in place. Everything works on this car including the electric aerial (although it does make a noise). Window regulators changed in the last 12 months and the radio works fully as do the controls on steering wheel. SID display works without any missing pixels as can be seen in the picture. Cruise control also works well, it seems as though there are some missing pixels on the AC unit but the main areas are well illuminated. Now for the interesting bit:The car was the standard low pressure 150bhp se model for all of its life until 6 months ago when it was fitted with a high pressure TD04 turbocharger from a Saab 9-5 aero HOT and a remap by Nottingham based tuner "SaabNOOB".
Apart from this the car is standard although there is a boost guage in the dash which seems a little unsightly in my opinion.
Observations I have after going for a drive are that that the new owner would probably benefit from improved suspension and brakes as I did not feel at all confident driving it fast as it seemed far more comfortable driving at sensible speeds, you cant tell that there is any difference in the power if you keep it below 3k rpm
There is rust over the two rear arches as can be seen in the pictures. This seems to have been treated but it has bubbled. it also seems as though that they have been resprayed as you can tell when the light catches that the topcoat of laquer needs to be applied.
The car is still registered as a standard low pressure turbo 150bhp car. The new owner has the responsibility to inform the DVLA and their insurance of the changes. the last owner stated: The turbo is nearly identical to the old one and that"s the only difference that you can see.
The car will need 2 tyres as they are worn pretty much to the limit the others do not seem so bad. There is also a small blow from the mid section of the exhaust where it joins to the downpipe, it may need a gasket or just tightening. It is only aparent when the car is 1st started as it sounds fine after a minute and you cant hear it when driving. I am not a mechanic and have not conducted a thourough test of the car, I have taken it for a 30 min drive that consisted of motorways, A roads and B roads and it seemd capable and comfortable.
I only have the green part of the log book at present but a full receipt will be given to the new owner. I will require proof of identity, driving licence etc before i will let it go.
I am not insured on the car so if you want to test drive etc the risk is yours. please feel free to view the car BEFORE the end and I welcome any inspection from a mechanic etc.
Please do not bid if you dont want it, all non payers will be reported and will have a non payment strike issued on their account.
I reserve the right to withdraw from sale as I have the car advertised elsewhere.
No test pilots please and just to make it clear to all those wishing to test drive: IF YOU BREAK IT YOU OWN IT.
As I have said, the car is fast and you can get into licence losing speeds very quickly so it is not for the feint harted.
Starting price is set at £500 and I will not accept any offers unless you come and view it and make me an offer face to face which is what I prefer. I would far rather someone look at the car so they know exactly what they are buying as I offer no warrantees or guarantees. There are no returns, the car is SOLD AS SEEN. as I have said please arrange for an inspection BEFORE you bid (or offer) not after you have won.
The car is located in Wolverhampton WV8 and can be viewed most evenings after 6pm or at weekends. PS I will not ship the car to any foreign lands or depots so please don"t ask, cash on collection only.If you have any questions please feel free to message, thanks for looking
