Sometimes a car comes along that really surprises you...
A reluctant sale of a very very nice Saab.
Owner previous to me attended Saab shows (evidenced by our conversation and "Swedish Day" stickers on top of tailgate) and loves the marque. He serviced the car with correct Synthetic engine and gearbox oil twice a year and did the recommended change to Oil system to improve and negate "sludging" (I don"t know the technical term but I know its important!)Also a wiper motor and an engine sensor (MAF?)
This is a 2.0 litre Turbo with 150bhp and accelerates like no other similar car of its size.The auto box is PERFECT and just pulls and pulls with ease.Cabin area is as expected in a luxury Cruiser from the time. Leather seats are incredibly well made, no damage and uber comfortable. The 9 speaker Kadron CD/Radio sounds brilliant and the car is so well soundproofed, that journeys are a pleasure to make.
Dual Zone Climate control, Stereo controls and cruise settings on steering wheel.Unique to Saab"s, the clever Night Panel system is working, the SID (Saab Information Display) works perfect and screen has no bad pixels etc) and also you will own the coolest drinks holder in the World! Electric Windows all round, Electric mirrors, Auto-dim rearview, and FOUR sunblinds :) The rear estate has the full length concertina cover intact and underneath, the original spare and all tools are present.With the rear seats up or down, the space is enormous and class leading. Tailgate gas structs are perfect and courtesy lights all good.Wheels are 17 Alloys, not perfect but look good. I bought 4 new Continental tyres about 5 months ago, so maybe about 600 miles on them only.
The Car has a great Service History with all 13 stamps from Main Dealer and the last one was about 10k ago. The engine is a CHAIN Cam so is a none replacement item :)
The boot and tailgate locks are remote and built into drivers door which is really useful.The car comes with both Remote key fobs (with new batteries in), extensive 250 page Drivers Handbook, Service Book, V5 in my name, and its NEW MOT Certificate (exp 12/07/2020) - which it passed with no Advisories at all. These are all presented in the Original Leather booklet.
It has a tow hook, but don"t worry. The previous owner installed it to tow the tiniest caravan I ever saw on a 45-mile round trip twice a year (for 2 years)And it might be useful! The Saab is more of a tank than a Volvo so it will pull well I imagine.And it had the highest NCAP safety rating of ANY car when it was new. Feels solid but fast.
Honestly, if you just want a cheap banger- please don"t buy my car!
As I said at the beginning, this is one of those cars that I would take on a trip around Europe without any hesitation at all and it would just soak up the miles. Its as luxurious as a period BMW or Merc, but it has... something about it thats special.
Yeah... its just a car, I know.
The bumpers have served their purpose over the years but it is mainly just scuffs and no cracks. The nose badge has gone somehow, and the near side rear door has a shallow crease (like a horse kick) with a small piece of trim missing. You can probably see it best in Photos 2 and 9 above. Is a shame but not a deal breaker IMO.

Sale required as my Driveway is full with work van and camper... Going to really really miss this Saab though.

I just remembered I got a nail in one Continental tyre last month. The garage didn"t have another Conti in stock, so one tyre is a Goodyear (I believe)
