“Generally in very good condition for a car of this age. There is minor rust on the driver's door, the boot and near the petrol filler cap. The leather trim on the steering wheel has worn at two o'clock. Neither cruise control nor air conditioning are working. The CD player carriage has recently given up, but the radio still plays.”

The car is MOT’d until November 2014, taxed until March 2015 and was last fully serviced in November 2013.

For the first five years of its life this exceptional car was serviced by Continental Cars, faithfully recorded in the Service Record. After a change of owner in 1998, the extensive service history shows a considerable amount of work when the car had done 92,000 miles, including the fitting of a new Abbott charge cooler, stainless steel exhaust, new alloy wheels and a whale tail, all done by Two Stroke to Turbo, and then another tranche the following year when Abbott Racing fitted uprated springs, dampers and tyres. In 2000 Abbott Racing skimmed the head and in 2002 the clutch was replaced by Haymill Saab. This owner was proud to have maintained it regardless of cost.
I bought the car in 2005 when it had done 172,000 miles  - there’s now 218,000 on the clock. Award-winning Saab Master Technician, Rowan Bott, returned the Saab to its proper T16S specification with new springs, dampers and tyres, though it was not until its next MOT that we found the exhaust did not have a CAT fitted. I’ve kept the old section of exhaust, in case anyone wants to return this to the car, and I’ve also kept the oversize tyres (195x50x16) and AR’s springs. This is my third Saab 900, so, along with the suspension kit, I’ve boxes of spares such as wing mirrors, an air horn, loudspeakers and odd bits of trim, which are all part of this sale.
JamSaab re-skimmed the head in 2008 and subsequently provided their own excellent gear lever to upgrade the assembly which my wife ‘removed’ untimely from its mounting. This set-up’s a big improvement on the original. Rowan performed his last exhaustive service, including a full headlining replacement, before returning to Australia, since when Gloucester Saab and Newent Autos have kept it in good order, including the necessary welding and body protection around the rear shock mounts. The car still buffs up and presents beautifully, but it’s not perfect. The air conditioning and cruise control are not working and there’s some minor rust near the petrol filler cap, on the boot and to the bottom of the driver’s door. The steering wheel leather has some wear at two o’clock and, though the radio works, the CD player is faulty. However, the headlining is in good order, having been renewed in 2013 by Glos Saab.
This seriously fast and stylish car is advertised elsewhere so it may be withdrawn before the end of the auction. I would welcome inspection by arrangement (the car is in West Gloucestershire).
