I have had this car since April 2012 and it has been the most comfortable and reliable REXTON I have had
Up until late 2015 this car has been a pleasure to drive having been over the channel and to all corners of the UK. One day on the way home I heard a clunk from the rear drivetrain. I continued to drive home and parked it on the drive (I have a spare car to use). The following weekend I drained the oil from the rear diff and there were some small metal fragments in it which is an indication of a broken tooth. Just before Christmas 2015 we moved house so I drove it to the new place only 10 miles away and could feel when turning at a right or left junction there is a clunk from the diff as the near side and off side wheels have different revolutions to travel. This backs up the earlier prognosis that the planetary gears need looking at. The easiest and quickest route is just to replace the axle with one from a scrap car, however if you can open the diff and replace the gears yourself then you"ll have a cracker of a car with very little work. Replacements on eBay are around £170.
It was my intention to do this sometime in 2016 but as I have a spare car it has never got done. It has been parked up since we moved so last week I put a new battery on it and it fired up first time and still sounds nice. The aux belt squeaks a bit now. It has been washed and vacuumed. I now need the space on the drive so it"s up for sale as is.
It can be driven away but I would rather advise you to trailer it away. It could be towed but you would have to remove the propshafts to prevent damage to the gearbox

A plastic trim across the inside boot entrance edge is loose

The remote fob needs coding to the car again if you want it to lock / unlock the doors remotely, otherwise the keys work just fine
