Here is my Skoda Fabia 1.2, trusted servant for 100K miles over the past 5 years.
I am moving into a self-build campervan to go travelling long term (when!), and was planning to sell the Fabia as a going concern in May - after getting it serviced and MOT"d. However, the gearbox started making noises and now the car"s not being used due to the lockdown.
I believe the input shaft bearing is worn - probably also the clutch thrust bearing.Clutch was changed at 137K miles in Nov 2018 but may need changing again, along with reconditioning the gearbox. I was quoted around £1000 to do both.
It has FSH - mostly with Robinsons Skoda and more recently ATS Europe.
It"s been serviced every 10K miles (approx. twice a year since I"ve had it); last major service at 154K miles.
The airbag light is illuminated on the dashboard; this came on after I was fiddling with fuses to check a blown headlamp and I pushed the driver seat right back, which may have dislodged a wire under the seat but I"m not sure.
MOT due 15th May 2020, but with the reprieve, I guess it"s now valid til November 2020.
Good set of tyres and working spare. Last brake fluid service £124K miles.
Passenger front electric window does not operate (not an MOT failure).
It"s been a dream work horse. Will be sorry to let it go in this way; had hoped to sell it as a decent runner.
Best to tow or low-loader away, unless you"re local.
