Here we have an increasingly rare survivor - a Skoda Favorit Mk 1. I"ve had this car for three years, during which time it has covered over 20,000 miles including a quick trip to eastern France. It has been completely reliable, the engine is smooth and doesn"t burn any oil and I have replaced the clutch, radiator and timing chain so it doesn"t have the annoying rattle that afflicts most old Felicias. I"ve also replaced the o/s/f wing - it was properly undersealed before fitting but I have not got around to paint it to match the rest of the car so it is still in black primer. 
The interior is OK - there"s a bit of wear in the driver"s seat but otherwise, it"s all good. There is a bit of rust around the rear wheel arches but I have seen a lot worse. The rest of it is solid and it has never been welded as far as I am aware. It has been regularly serviced by me...
The MOT expires in November and I see no reason as to which it shouldn"t pass a few more without much (if any) work.
So there we have it - a cheap and reliable Felicia which will cost very little to keep reliable and on the road. Parts are cheap and they are easy cars to work on. They are quite roomy and although they could never be described as fast, they are also quite involving and fun to drive.
