Hi and welcome to the auction of my 2004 Octavia VRS Estate (54-Plate).
This is a fantastic car, totally original and low miles - a rare find for these desirable and sporty cars.
The condition both inside and out is excellent with no blemishes to the paint worthy of note. Inside the half-leather sports seats are emblazoned with the VRS logo and look great. There is some slight wear on the drivers bolster but no rips or holes. The leather sports steering wheel is also in ace condition.
With Volkswagen/Audi group quality, you can be assured everything works on this car - it has the top level "Climatronic" digital climate control (AC) as well as the "Symphony" sound system with CD multichanger located in the boot (there are kits available to connect an iPod interface into the CD changer port if you are tech-savvy and listen to music from such a device or even a mobile telephone).
The car has a long MOT - with expiry in October 2016. It passed the last test with NO advisories, I wouldn"t expect anything else from such a great condition car. Before me there was one owner from new, who also took great care of the car with a full service history present. Including a recent (within 12 months) camshaft drive belt and water pump - sure peace of mind for the new owner.
The car is equipped with the incredible and sporty VW/Audi 1.8 litre turbocharged 20-valve engine which in this car generates an impressive 180bhp - seriously impressive and gives great performance on the road. I am told that a simple plug and play "reprogramming" could increase this to over 200 horsepower! Please note that this has not been done to this car though - it is still as it left the factory, and the standard power certainly felt plenty enough for me!
It is fitted with a towbar, which although I"ve not used, would be very useful for towing things such as caravans or trailers or a bike-rack... options are almost endless.Half-leather seats as already mentioned.4x Electric windows.Cruise Control.Trip Computer.Best Colour for this car.
There are 3 "negative" things which are worth noting about the car. Firstly, the Secondary Air Injection pump (?!) is noisy for about 54 seconds after the car is started from cold. This doesn"t have any effect on performance but does sound a bit like someone is using a vacuum cleaner running under the bonnet - didn"t bother me at all and goes silent after that short time so not really a problem. Secondly, I think an exhaust bracket is a bit loose under the car because every now and then at a certain engine speed there is a little metallic rattle from under the car. Again, so insignificant I never paid to get it checked out. Finally, probably the most significant defect with the car is the radio aerial on the roof is a little bent. Really annoyed me but couldn"t work out how to remove it?!
I always take huge pride of my cars so you can be sure you are buying a great vehicle which is well looked after. My reason for sale - my mother has recently decided to give up driving and I have inherited her car. It"s a little less speedy and powerful than this one and I feel I should pass this one on to someone who will enjoy it more. Being an estate it is really practical.
The mileage (as seen in the photo) is likely to increase a little before the auction ends as I will keep my insurance on this car to facilitate test drives - this means I wont be able to start driving my mothers old car until this one is sold.
