vehicle description:

Spares/Repair Saab 9-5 aero (2.3 turbo) auto estate - BU02 NNK - dark blue metallic - first registered 29/03/2002
So after a year and 12,000 miles later it failed it’s MOT (20/09/17) so is being sold without a current MOT, it can be driven but wouldn’t recommend with no longer having an MOT, please take this in to consideration before bidding. It"s been a great car, never let us as a family down and worked without fail for the 12 months.
Negative points first to avoid any confusion.
It failed the MOT on the following points:
1 - Nearside front tyre has a tear, caused by separation or partial failure of it’s structure (4.1.D.1b)
2 - Offside front tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (4.1.E.1)
3 - Nearside seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded (5.2.6
4 - Offside seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded (5.2.6)
5 - Nearside front sub-frame rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
6 - Offside front sub-frame rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
7 - Offside front position lamp(s) not working (1.1.A.3b)
- Passed the MOT emissions test (20/09/17)
Other issues I am aware of:
1 - Rear boot struts have failed
2 - Gearbox sometimes clunky, not during normal driving but when selecting gears initially & when setting off/in traffic etc.
3 - Engine needs oil putting in every now and again but nothing excessive, pulls well, no smoke etc. and as far as I am aware nothing untoward
4 - Rear washer jet never worked and rear wiper needs replacing
5 - Surface rust starting to show through on rear arches (see pictures)
I have decided due to having already ordered a lease car that I am not the person to repair it but I do believe this could be done, obviously you would have to make your own mind up whether that was the case. I’m the 5th owner. Has service history (see picture, not full) and in my time it"s had gearbox oil replaced by the local Saab garage (this did make the clunkiness, mentioned above better), 2 new rear shocks less than 1,000 miles ago and 2 new rear tyres a few months ago. 160,235 Miles, will not go up as car is now SORN due to MOT fail. All electrics work well
Has ‘2’ keys.
High spec, full electrics, remote locking, xenon headlights, heated front & rear seats, parking sensors, air con (needs re-gassing), digital climate, cruise control, multi function steering wheel etc. Condition wise is good, interior especially is in great condition, has stone chips, small dent in 1 of rear doors, marks etc to bodywork as you would expect a 15 year old car to have, but does clean up well, pictures taken this week so are as it’s current condition not pictures taken weeks/months ago. It is a comfortable, relatively quick (250bhp) estate car and is like driving a sofa, probably the comfiest car I have owned, great at munching through miles especially on the motorway.
Last owner before us was a Saab "Master" Technician and he had the engine out and replaced timing tensioners, chains, guides, big and main engine bearings including thrust washers and oil strainer, o" rings and other items.
Car currently parked off road, SORN in Great Dunmow, Essex
Any questions please drop me a message, will try and answer everything as honestly as possible
