For sale is my 2009 Subaru Forester which had just been MOTd, serviced and had 4 new tyres put on in August 15. The crank shaft went last week and based on my research, the repair for a new E200 Subaru Boxer engine is in the region of £4000 fitted. It may be that you can replace or recondition the engine more cheaply but I have not got the time for more research and I"m not technically minded. 
So, the car is a non runner and for parts / repair. 
The very high quality interior with leather seats, heated front seats, cruise control etc is augmented with an after market satnav system that cost in excess of £400 to install late last year. All the leather is on good condition and a minor ding to the passenger door (tow ball mark) is being fully repaired early next week (17 - 21 Nov) under another party"s insurance. Therefore the vehicle will be ready for collection (from Bedford) after 21 Nov.
It ran perfectly well to the point that bits came apart inside the engine, so all peripheral engine items are still fully functioning and as I say, it has just had a major service. When I add up the cost of the items less engine, were you to buy them separately, the cost would be we"ll in excess of £5000. But being a realist and accepting that the car has done 130,000 miles (walk in the park for a diesel I thought), I am realistic about what it is now worth.
The Subaru dog guard (see picture) will be included if I make the buy it now price.
Please note that the cherished 55 plate has been removed and its original 09 plate has been restored. Full payment on collection, a £200 deposit to be paid on the day of purchase please.
