I purchased this S2 to relive memories of owning a new one back in the 80"s but I find that due to old age and infirmity, I can get in but need assistance to get out of the car!
It"s a nice machine that presents well but being a TVR, it could easily fall apart at any moment. The bodywork appears to have original paint that is substantially in good order. The wheels have been refurbished and the tyres are good P6000"s. The interior is mostly black leather in good condition but the dash has been "updated" with black paint. The carpets are very good. The folding hood is good with one small pimple, the targa top is OK but would benefit from a new covering. The head lining needs re-fixing (glue). The car starts, runs and drives well but the water pump has noisy bearings and needs changing. A new clutch has just been fitted. There is a new MOT certificate for the car but there are 3 advisory items: A reference to slight corrosion in the structure which means it is a TVR. The chassis, including the outriggers, appears to be quite solid however and the reference is to surface rust. There is also a reference to a damgaged ball joint dust cover although the ingress of water is still being prevented, and a further reference to slight bearing wear in the lower steering column. The exhaust is stainless by the way. All in all, the car has the potential to be brought up to very good order but is perfectly useable as it is. Cash on collection please.
