TVR 3000M 1973 (EARLY M SERIES) - RESTORATION PROJECT FOR AUCTION
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a TVR 3000M, originally purchased from the TVR factory and registered 15th March 1973, making it one of the more desirable early M Series cars, with many features unique to the M Series of this era. It is currently dismantled and will require full restoration. Although the photos do not show all the parts, all original parts removed from the car are present, apart from the exhaust system and manifold (I will add more photos later, time permitting). I have owned it for the past 10 years, and the previous owner kept it for 20 years prior to that. It has been off the road since the MOT expired on 13th August 1993 and the current mileage is 94,000. The V5 is present in my name and the car has had 9 previous owners from new. There is no service history or documentation with the car, other than a couple of old MOT certificates, a copy of the TVR factory build sheet and details of all previous owners. Please note: the first photograph was taken before the car was dismantled.
Bodywork:
The fibreglass tub, doors and bonnet appear undamaged but will require stripping and repainting. The car is in its original and rare colour of Aquatic Jade but it has previously been resprayed once, many years ago. The paint is cracking and flaking off in various places around the body. The bonnet has been removed with the bonnet frame, headlights and wiring attached but the doors and glass are still attached to the tub. The original chrome bumpers are present but will need replacing.
Chassis:
The chassis has corrosion to the outriggers and box section supporting the rear of the body - these are the worst areas. The rest of the chassis appears to have surface corrosion only. The whole chassis will need stripping, repairing and refinishing. Front of chassis has original chassis number still engraved.
Engine & Gearbox:
Ford Essex 3.0 litre V6 engine and 4 speed box are removed from the chassis. The engine turns freely by hand but is not the original engine for the car. The original Triumph diff, prop shaft, half shafts etc. are present. The diff carrier is corroded and will need replacing.
Glass:
The original front screen and heated rear glass screen are present and still fitted to the tub, as are the doors and side windows.
Suspension & Steering:
The four corners have been removed from the chassis - the two front corners remain complete but the rears have had the upper wishbones and suspension struts removed. All parts are present and will need restoring or replacing.
Interior:
Original interior is present with early M Series / Vixen style seats, early steering wheel, dashboard and instruments. All will need restoring or replacing.

The TVR is located in Staffordshire, just 5 minutes off M6 Junction 14. As stated, the car is dismantled so please take this into consideration for collection and transportation purposes.
The car is offered with a low starting bid and reserve price. Full payment must be made within 48 hours of the auction ending or alternatively, you can contact me to secure the car with a 10% deposit while we arrange a collection date. Payment by bank transfer please and all funds must be cleared before collection.
If the car doesn"t reach its reserve price, I will re-advertise it once the current lockdown restrictions are eased. The car will be advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
