This Superb car is a real head turner
and a joy to drive
1993 CHIMAERA 4.3. ONLY 43,000 MILES.
RARE CAR. (1993)
THIS IS NOT THE BIG VALVE MODEL ENGINE
A rare
sight. A stunning early, full fat, no power steering 4.3 from the old school.
1993 K.
Giallo Fly with Cream Hide and Blue carpets.
Only 43,000 miles and supported with a full service history.
The list of work carried out on this car over the last few years is endless.
New outriggers, 4 new Toyo Proxes.
All wheels refurbished 12k service
carried out.
New engine mounts, new fuel lines, new dash veneer, Leven stalks
fitted,
New Distributor cap, leads and spark plugs. New silicone water hoses
Car also comes with a TVR plate.
Carpets all in great order, not faded.
The hood is also very good, with a near
perfect rear screen.
As mentioned, the dash is newly veneered.
The 4.3 engine is still a masterpiece,
clearly the most characterful engine
of the rover v8 range,
you can really see why 4.3 griffs have become so
sought after.
Definitely the best sounding of the V8 variants.
A real, British,
V8 open top experience.
The service history is very good, 17 stamps in the book so far.
The last
service was a full 12k less than 3000 miles ago.
There are
some stone chips to bonnet.
Date of first registration 18 June 1993
Year of manufacture 1993

HERE IS THE PROBLEM
THIS CAR IS A NON RUNNER DUE TO ELECTRICAL FAULT. IMMOBILISER
WHICH I HAVE BEEN TOLD
BY TVR.UK SHOULD COST IN THE REGION OF
£750-00 TO SORT
TVR CHIMAERA 1993 430
THE TOP OF THE DASH HAS ALREADY BEEN
REMOVED TO FACILITATE ACCESS.
Please read carefully to avoid any problems once sold.
I have had this car a year, one key was
supplied, I had a second cut, neither are chipped.
I was not provided with any fobs and
was not aware the car had a working immobiliser or alarm,
although according to
the handbook this model had an immobiliser operated by the key switching
on the door,
existing wiring seems to clarify this but with no
positive operation.
Up until a month ago it was a key in
door to unlock, no central locking, and same key to turn ignition switch, start
and away.
First sign of problems.
Lost instrument readings and interior
heater fan, both are on same fuse.
Fuses checked, tested good but still replaced
with new
also lost ignition and oil warning lights. Car would still start, fuel
pump working.
Still no instruments or ignition lights
but would start.
Having decided to replace all fuses in
fuses box, I found one 15A not working, it was replaced and it seems alarm was
triggered,
along with immobiliser. No instrument lights or fan, starter would
turn but no fuel pump. .
I had never suffered from battery drain
but within a week all power to battery lost.
Battery unable to charge as constant
current drain.
Connected secondary battery with
Anderson jump leads and all powered up including instruments and
heater fan, except fuel pump, starter works,
engine does not fire up but all
ignition system now stays on ( except fuel pump) and will not switch off even
when key removed,
Only way to kill ignition is to pull main relay. Even
disconnected ignition switch, power remained as if keyed on.
I have removed dash top to reveal all
and have found a
Meta M 999 Alarm-Immobiliser/Remote
controlled unit: I have no FOBS
There is also a unit underneath the
immobiliser shown in pictures j&k, Appears to be disconnected???
The two usual ignition/fuel pump relays
have been replaced and main high amp ignition relay tested, however as said
even with ignition off
and even disconnected there is still
power to the input side (coil) of the relay so all ignition remains on.
I checked condition of
wiring and it looks good though there seems to have been some modification
along the way.
This car is being sold as seen, it has
been fantastic, it drove brilliantly with no start problems at all until the
electrical fault arose.
REALISTIC OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED
Low start bidding. Good Luck
