TVRChimaera 4.0 Litre Supercharged
Originally supplied to the Channel Islands in 1996 and re-imported to the UK in around 2003. Exhaust emissions ( CAT delete) therefore exempt and letter of conformity from TVR to verify.
Owned by me for several years. This is the serpentine engined version and therefore has the T5 gearbox and was supplied new with limited slip differential and Power steering.
Various upgrades during ownership including Nitron Racing Red Suspension, aftermarket alloys and recent installation of new hood. New floor carpets last year with original carpeting on doors cards behind seat area etc. Fully mapped after installation of Emeralds K6 ECU.
Engine is now the 4.0 litre cross bolted short engine and has ported heads, custom camshaft, Yella Terra Roller Rockers, Billet Alloy lite flywheel and 350 BHP clutch assembly. Remote oil filter fitted, stainless braided lines and oil cooler fitted to control oil temps. Oil pressure cold approx 45 – 50 psi and around 35psi hot. Engine fitted @ approx 34,000 mls. Emerald K6 fitted last year with power output estimated @ approx 270 – 280 BHP (crank) and 275 ft/lbs torque @ 3600 rpm with 220 ft/lbs available from 1400 rpm
Eaton M90 Supercharger running at a low 2 – 2.5 psi and this was decided upon to make a potent road car rather than an all out sprinter. Smaller pulley, uprated injectors and an intercooler would make for a interesting sprint or hill climb car as the current configuration provides lots of torque from low engine speeds, in any gear. Old Mot certs available and records show approx 5000 mls covered during the last 12 years. TVR plate stays with the car and is valued at £3000 - £4000. Also included are original alloy wheels (fair condition). Original ECU, AFM and a pair of new uprated front discs (need skimming ?) and used front calipers to suit.
Solid Chassis, good bodywork and with a small amount of time/work this car I would suggest, currently being very good in its present condition, could be made excellent. Looks and performs pretty good for a 23 year old. MOT until Feb 2020 - Insurance value (agreed) £17,500.00 without TVR cherished plate.
Sad to see the car go but I have other vehicles and other commitments which prevent me enjoying this car as much as it should be enjoyed. Pictures were taken for insurance purposes and reflect the cars daily “as kept” condition and therefore not specially valeted, polished for this sale. Not driven in wet weather just on Sun-days. The TVR is not new but a genuinely good tidy example with potential.
