TVR 430 BIG VALVEIf you know your TVR"s then you will know that these models are the rarest and one of the most sort after Chimaera"s.These were made only for a limited time using the uprated Griffith engine and was several thousands of pounds in addition to the purchase price over the standard 4 litre car.The Chimaera has just been voted the best car out of 9 soft top cars tested in May"s addition of Classic Car magazine, and that was only the standard 4 litre car.The engine was uprated to 300 bhp using a racing big valve head, with larger inlet and exhaust valves with racing springs and a gas flowed head, together with a 214 high lift camshaft , lightened flywheel , vernier timing gears ,heavy duty clutch plate and release bearing,uprated ECU, which is a huge increase over the 240 bhp of the standard 4 litre cars.
Only 12 of these factory big valve cars were made of which just 5 survive today.They did not have power steering or air con etc., so as not to detract from the pure ,brutal performance car feel that this charismatic vehicle has by the bucket load and the 430 Chimaera was voted as having one the best exhaust notes of any car,ever .
This particular car has undergone recommissioning having been dry stored and sorn since 2008 and has only covered 35880 from new with it,s original bodywork and paint still in tact and in remarkably good condition for a 22 year old car but it is not concourse and does have age related chips etc and a small area needs re lacquering on the nearside wing but over all it is in very good condition.It has already had a full limited slip diff rebuild, Goodridge stainless steel braided brake and fuel hoses throughout, polybushed suspension fittings,new altenator and the chassis is in A1 condition and is waxoiled.
The vehicle has had a full interior re-trim in high quality black automotive carpets and trim with waterproof underlay and has been fully Dynomated sound and heatproofed over the floors and the transmission tunnel areas. It has had a brand new mowhair front and rear hood fitted .In addition it has had a new Vata battery with 4 year guarantee,engine breather filters, and had been fully serviced using fully synthetic motor oils and has a full 12 months MOT.The car is in sea mist metallic green.
