vehicle description:

A rare and treasured car, that will surely increase in value if it is looked after as it has been by its three custodians so far. Never been near a track, stored under cover, in a humidity controlled garage the car is in exceptional condition, its never been out in the rain. The car was registered in Sept 2000 and was supplied by HR Owen in London, which at the time was the premier TVR Dealer, the extensive history file there is even a copy of the original supply invoice, along with original Tax disc holder, HR Owen Key Fobs, etc.... Ordered in the rare colour of Crystal Topaz, which is a pearlescent blue colour that subtly changes tone in the sunlight. This particular colour was used as the launch colour for the TVR Cerbera around that time and not many Chimearas can be found in it. The paintwork is truly impressive, original and with no major marks at all, it continues to gleam as it did on its first day on the road. Matched with a Prussian Blue hood and Prussian Blue leather interior, carpets and plastics, all lifted with a Stainless Steel dash and Leven polished Aluminium accents. As can be seen from the photos the car really is in exceptional condition. Further factory upgrades include: Griffith 7 spoke wheels, adjustable lumber supports in both seats, colour coded leather steering wheel and polished steel dashboard. Further enhancements are the addition of adjustable Leven Aluminium pedals, Leven Aluminium Handbrake lever, Fuel and Radiator Caps and indicator stalks all of which cost around £750, but add that touch of contrast in the cockpit. The original TVR fittings are all available should you want to revert back to original. Also both Rocker Covers and Plenum chamber are enamelled and the Highlights polished which make the engine look that little classier. It even has leatherette case to put the roof into to protect it when its stowed in the boot. Two minor age related issues to declare: the carpet in front of the centre console air vents has fade a little (this can be seen in one of the photos) and the rear window has a small tear in it, around 1 inch. Neither of these are issues, however I think that I should advise in advance. I chose to buy this car because it was clear that it had been treasured, because of the elegant colour combination and arguably the best engine spec but mostly and because of the extensive history that it had. I have tried to add to that history, I think that it shows that it has been cared for - having it serviced when it simply didn"t need it. In fact when I bought the car from its second owner (who owned it for 10 years) it felt like he was interviewing me to make sure that I was worthy of it. I would like to think that it will go to a new owner who will continue to care for it. When I bought the car I commissioned Rob Ingelby of Find A Sportscar. (www.findasportscar.co.uk) to go to Newcastle from his base in Cambridgeshire and inspect the car and give me a full report. I found Rob through recommendation and he has a reputation for knowing TVRs especially well. I found his service gave me the confidence that I was buying a good example. I am very happy to share his 4 page report, it was a telling sign when he rang me from Newcastle to say that if I didn"t buy it, he would. When I brought the car home, I sent it to STR8SIX, a TVR specialist in Oxfordshire, I asked them to carry out a Major Service and advise anything that they thought needed doing. I was so delighted that the other than the service and a pinch bolt on the steering column, nothing needed doing. I still have the email in which the MD said with-out Doubt, this is one of the nicest Chimaeras I have seen. As you can see from the mileage details, its not had very much use over the last two years - (just 350miles this year) and although its regularly unveiled, started up and admired, its due a new owner. I hope that the car will attract an enthusiast who will enjoy the amazing sound, the perfect drive and grunt of the car. The car has no defects and starts first time every time. The Document file contains. Copy of the original supply invoice - confirming the exact spec ordered as the car has currently Copy of the consignment invoice - From TVR Engineering, Blackpool charging HR Owen for the car, this is somewhat unorthodox to have this, but its even more detail about the car. Certificate of Conformity and letters when originally supplied at new from TVR Blackpool V5, counter slips from owner 1 - to owner 2 (June 2003), along with Signed receipt for the car and even a copy of the bankers draft. Copy of HPI check at that time. Even the TVR owners club Magazines that the car was advertised in when sold privately by owner #1 Same from owner 2 - to me (owner 3) April - 2013 with Receipts and further HPI check All 13 MOTs - confirming Mileage at each Owners Handbook contains 17 stamped and detailed pages - virtually all supported with receipts or invoices. Writing this is I am beginning to question why I am selling this car, it really is a special one. If it goes to the right owner then I"ll be happy, if it doesn"t go, then I think I"ll also be happy too. Please don"t expect to turn up and drive it, I have never thrashed it and wont let someone else, these cars have a nickname of widow-maker and need treating with respect. Please email if you have any questions, I"m happy to answer.
