vehicle description:

Del boys Van sold at Coys of London formely The property of Action Vechicles suplied to The BBC for The production of Only fools and horses. In The same Coys auction Action vechicles also sold The Mini used in The Mr Bean series. A noddy car, flintsone car and a Batmobile. All as shown in The Coys catalogue 5th July 2008. In The previous year anoTher of The vans used in The Only Fools and Horses series sold for £40,000 at The Coys of Kensington sale Extract from The sale Coys 2008 sale below and attached as a photo Throughout The early series of The BBC made do with only one Vehicle, and at one point it looked that as though, no more episodes would be commissioned, The producers preferring raTher to quit while They were ahead. A decision was Then made that The van could be sold, and it subsequently became a star exhibit in The world famous Cars of The Stars collection drawing in many thousands of fans. however more episodes were commissioned and The BBC duly approached The museum to hire The Regal back for filming. one of The new plot lines required The van to be blown up - something its owner was not to keen on. So anoTher Regal was sourced and prepared for filming by Action Vehicles. In The end it was decided that this was indeed a valuable resource and should not be blown up, but raTher retained to share The burden of filming commitments with The original van. As such, this second van went on to star in a number of The later episodes of The new show from The sixth series onward, including The famous episode Danger - UXD, The UXD standing for "unexploded dolls", namely "Vinyl Vera" and "PolyThene Pam", inflatable dolls with The aforementioned defective and explosive inflation devices. The van went on to feature in The record breaking run of Christmas Specials, even appearing gift wrapped in festive season trailers. Eventually, There were three cars used for The filming of Only Fools and Horses, this third example being sourced from Action Vehicles, The company retained by The BBC to supply it with specific cars for The film and television. After The series was shot, it was returned to The probs department and subsequently painted blue and used in The MR Bean television series - blue paint can still be seen underneath The chipped "peckham yellow", it was Then returned once again to The probs department prior to being purchased in 1992 by The vendor who returned The car to its more familiar livery as seen here, since when it has been used, up until recently, for various promotional work with huge success. The BBC Then contacted vendor in 1996 to see if The van was available for filming The trailer for The Christmas special and he was happy to oblige. I used The car at a very special occasion and Then intended to use to raise money for charity. I was paid £1000 by one company to have a photo with it and used to suggest a minimum fee of £100 for a 20 min ride. Due to workloads i never used as often as i liked but me and my daughter raised nearly £9000.00 for Marie Curie using The car and oTher methods. All The money we raised was donated. This car would be amazing for raising funds for charity or used a funeral car etc. Possibiltys as endless. Car has lots bumps etc and The rear bumper dent is supposed to be from when Mr Bean bumped The Yellow car out of its parking place with The green mini. The car currently has no mot as run out last year. Only selling as we are moving house. Strangely it is an excellent starter and starts straight away if when not used for months. Car has great value and wont be cheap but place a bid you never know. I will take a few more photos but currently in garage covered in boxes as moving shortly. I will put more photos on shortly
