here for sale is my 1987 Toyota Hilux.
as you can see its in very good order for 1 of these, as in its not rotten as a pear!
I have done a lot of work to it over the last year or so
including all new springs, lomger spring shackles, longer gas shocks,
longer stainless flexi brake hoses.
the rear tub was lifted off, cab was stripped but stayed on chassis, I then had
the chassis, axles and underneath of the inner wings blasted, primed and painted.
there was a coat of red lead followed by 3 or 4 coats of chassis black, then
a load of black waxoil was blasted on it and under whole truck when it was back in 1 peice.
waxoil doesnt shine as well as paint but helps keep the water off!
it has had a bit of welding done here and there, mostly to rear tub.
chassis did not require any welding, neither will it for a long time as its in great shape.
the lower corners of tub are fibreglass replacements.
I then resprayed it blue, not a concourse job, but good enough for a working truck,
was going to polish it with mop but havent got around to it yet, still shiny though!
interior is pretty damn good for 1 of these, even has most of vinyl floor in,
its a bit worn on driver side but ok everywhere else.
seats are very good also.
only bad point inside is the heater temp control and distribution lever dont work.
the blower is fine and directs onto windscreen, you can adjust temp manually
on valve on bulkhead.
it doesnt bother me that much so havent got around to fixing it yet!
mechanicaly it is in very good order, only covered 63,500 genuine miles!
everything works just as it should.
it has had new batterys, alternator and regulator.
engine has had filters etc.
timing belt was replaced a couple of years ago according to previous owner
so I havent got around to doing it yet.
engine fires up 1st touch of the key everytime, hot or cold
drives as well as can be expected on leaf springs!
being the deisel its not the fasted thing around but ok.
I did an 800 mile round trip from the island to Scotland a few weekends ago,
didnt want to take this but van blew its engine night before so had no option!
it never missed a beat and sat at motorway speeds a lot better than I expected.
all in all its a good honest truck that will serve you reliably for the next 20 years.
it is 27 years old and was not intended to be a show truck, my aim was a tidy,solid dependable
truck that will give years of service.
so dont expect a concourse trailer queen!
now the crap bit.
the truck is located on The Isle of Man so will be up to winning bidder to arrange
shipment, truck wont move untill funds have cleared.

I can load truck on boat this end or pick you up at airport if need be.
this will be discussed with winning bidder.
you can drive truck anywhere with insurance, tax is out at moment, but I will put tax on it
