Find out where we are Lively, rugged and a superb long-distance tourer, the TR3 is one of best British sports cars of its era.Our ‘3A’ is an original, UK market right-hand drive car, rather than converted US-market car like so many on the market. It has its original buff logbook indicating that WVB 579 was first registered on November 24, 1959 in Croyden, and sold to a Mrs Betty Lilian Bellhunt of Bognor, Sussex.By 1990, the TR was sold by Triumph Specialists, Protek to a Mr Knight of Surrey who embarked on a total body-off restoration of the car.We have a CD of photographs detailing the work performed including the build-up from a bare chassis. We also have all the receipts and invoices from the restoration. Bodily it had replacement floors, sills, door skins, wings and boot lid. The chrome was replaced and the interior completely renewed with leather seats, new side screens, wet weather gear and full tonneau cover.Naturally the brakes, suspension and electrics were rebuilt. The engine was also fully rebuilt and fitted with reconditioned carburettors. New chrome wires were fitted too.Although it has been 20 years since the restoration was completed, only 5000 miles have been covered and it remains in lovely condition throughout. The chrome is superb, the interior perfect and the new side screens have never been used.What’s more, it drives absolutely beautifully with strong performance, a crisp gear-change, direct steering and superb brakes. The overdrive allows for easy high-speed cruising making it ideal for long trips and touring.In short, it’s a very pretty TR3A that needs nothing other than for its next owner to enjoy it.
