Always wanted one, itched the scratch, now for the new owner to enjoy.
Have done over 400 miles in the car over the weekend, and it has not missed a beat. Runs and drives exactly as it should, and you can tell this is a wall-pampered example.
Mechanically this sexy Swede is absolutely spot on. No leaks. No overheating. No warning lights on the dash.
Pulls like a train in every gear and I have had some fun p1ssing off owners of brand new BMWs and Audis - the look on their faces when a turquoise box flies past them never gets boring!
Has that legendary 5 cylinder burble coupled with the whoosh of the turbo. This really is a proper "q" car from the late 90s.
Brakes are decent and stop this sports saloon very well - no shaking, shuddering or pulling to one side.
Suspension is also tight and solid and the car handles really well.
Tyres are excellent - the front two are recent Goodyear Efficient Grips. One rear is also a new tyre.
Last Fully Serviced in March 2019, at the time of MOT. New Battery in 2019 (with warranty in place). New Alternator in May 2019. Almost £1k spent this year alone!
The car is in decent order for the year, and free from rust and rot. It does, however, have some scrapes on the bumpers, which happened when elderly owner scraped his front driveway wall.. Marks, blemishes and stone chips as to be expected. No major dings or dents. Wheels are clean but a couple are fading, so would benefit from a refurb if you want perfection. A little TLC will make this into a very clean example indeed.
The interior is also in good condition, with no rips or tears. A few cracks in the leather and some of the leather door cards are lifting away. Everything is tight and this is probably the most solid feeling Volvo I have had from this era. It really is a credit to its previous owner, who has meticulously maintained it.
Everything works as it should. No warning lights on the dash.
