RELISTING DUE TO TIME WASTER
Welcome to the auction of this rare Volvo V70 R all wheel drive / 4x4 with full service history.
Currently owned by myself a lady owner since January 2003. It has been a very reliable car and a very strong and powerful petrol 2.3litre engine with 250 bhp. Volvo brochure says the car will go from 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. We have never timed it but it certainly puts a smile on your face!
The black paint work really shines and the the cream leather / quilted Alcantara interior has no rips in it as I have taken great care over the years to put leather protector on all the seats. The suede steering wheel is also in great condition and great in the cold in winter as it doesnt feel cold to the touch. Cam belt was changed at just over 79,000 miles so doesn"t need doing for a long time yet.
The car has factory lowered suspension as standard, has original R design floor mats, load cover which sadly doesn"t retract as the spring has given up, original Volvo 3 changer cd player and cassette player for those who still have casette tapes! To get the best sound from your cd"s (or tapes) there is the Volvo speakers. 4 50watt speakers with amplifier! Cruise control to make motorway cruising a doddle, lovely ice cold air conditioning, all 4 tyres have at least 5mm tread on them so they wont need changing for a long time and the alloy rims have no knocks or dents on them! The instruments on the dashboard have a blue backing to them which makes it easy on the eye at night but also looks very sporty. Both the driver and passenger seats are electrically adjustable and all fully functioning. There is a perfectly working tilt and slide sunroof to allow the great British sun in. If we get a rare downpour of rain (as if we get rain in the UK!) the sunroof keeps out the rain and is water tight. The bumper has a dust cover as Volvo like to describe it, which covers the back bumper for when you want to sit in the sun having a picnic.
The car has been very reliable and passed it"s last MOT first time. The mot expires on 5th August 2016. Unfortunately no road tax will be included due to new laws a couple of years ago that doesn"t allow the transfer of road tax. However, the road tax is about £280 a year which is very low for this powerful car. The car has done 92,400 miles which is very low, thats about 5000 miles a year. Since we have owned the car we have done about 20,000 miles in 13 years which is about 1500 miles a year.
A question asked last time the car was listed was if the 4x4 system works and if the sun roof leaks. We took the car to our local garage and he has confirmed that the 4x4 system is fully working and the sun roof doesn"t leak, Whilst at the garage the mechanic noticed the rear brake pads were getting low so we put new pads on both rear wheels too.
The car is fitted with a genuine Volvo detachable tow bar that was fitted by Volvo. It also has a 13pin electric socket. Although it is wired up for being compatible to tow a caravan, we have only towed a garden trailer with the car. Our caravan has always been towed by our other Volvo 4x4. This car hasn"t ever needed to be called into action for caravan towing.
To sum up, this is a very rare car in a very rare fantastic condition with very low miles for it"s age. The car is only being sold due to my husband buying me the car of my dreams for our 40th wedding anniversary present. A pink Volvo! The car is available for viewing during weekdays and weekends with prior arrangement. Due to time waster, the insurance has now expired and the car is now declared SORN (off the road). The only fault with the car is the boot gas struts are becoming weak. The boot stays up but doesn"t go up as fast as it used to. Apart from this the car is in near perfect showroom condition for it"s age. We have all the receipts for all the work that has been done including servicing and MOT"s. We bought the car from a Volvo dealership (Hapstead Horsham) so you can be assured that the car isn"t stolen. We also have the sales details from when we bought the car.
Boring bits that sadly needs to be put. Please no time wasters, tyre kickers or canvassers. £300 deposit to be paid via paypal within 24 hours of auction ending or it shall be relisted. The remainder to be paid in cash only. Once the remainder has been paid in cash a receipt will be given and the V5 transfered into your name. The car will not be shipped abroad, dropped off at a services for your friend to collect or any other scam method. Collection of the car will be from our house near Banbury just off juntion 11 M40. Private number plate has been removed and the original R reg number plate has been put back on.
