vehicle description:

A well used VW Golf Cabriolet which has received some neglect for the last fewyears and is ready to get some TLC off a willing volunteer.
This is my sisters vehicle and I am selling it on her behalf. I do not hold the V5 at present but it will shortly be in the post ready for a sale to be completed. My sister no longer has any further interest in the vehicle as she does not have the time or money to invest. I have the keys and the immobiliser fob.
The car has not been used for some time, the tax disc was last updated Sept 2010 which indicates it has not been on the road for some 5 years.
When there was interest in the vehicle we did complete a lot of servicing on the car but with the length of time of neglect it is probably not worth mentioning the good points anymore, except maybe the half leather interior i.e. front and rear leather seats finished in grey which do show signs of wear.
The bad and the Ugly
Convertible Roof has a big rip in it, hence a black bin bag on the roof, which also means wet floors I"m afraid. I have just removed the majority of water.
Engine does start but the spare battery, I put in last year, no longer has any life left in it. I will try to charge the battery but I am not hopeful. I can use my car battery to prove the engine runs. Dipstick indicates oil level is full and fairly clean. Over time the coolant has vanished, which could be a water pump or hose split issue.
A rubber boot for some cables going through the firewall from the engine bay is split and will not locate properly. There are other minor faults within the engine bay, such as rubber mount holding the front of the air filter on.
Wheels will require 4 x new tyres (195/50 15) as they either do not hold pressure or have bad cracks in the tyre wall. The wheels are scuffed and centre caps missing on 3 of the wheels.
The Karman bumpers and skirts have been removed and are no longer with the vehicle.
The body work has several minor patches of rust which will require treatment but it is believed nothing structural. Some of the external trim requires replacement clips to secure properly. The paint work is in average condition considering it"s age. There are some stain streaks around the rear quarters from the soft top which wasn"t shampoo"d properly and some was left on.
Brakes did have have discs and pads replaced with little use, however discs will now be corroded and would probably require a skim at least.
Wishbones, rear axle, anti roll bar were powder coated and I do have disc dust shields in the bottom of a cupboard to go with the car. All the springs were changed to GSF lowered units with standard shocks. When the Anti Roll bar was powder coated the clips holding it on to the front wishbone rear mounts were lost and is therefore located on the back seat. Top mounts were replaced a while back. This car does not have power steering.
I need this vehicle sold and removed from the property by 13 Sept 15 ideally as I will not be around much after this except for a couple of weekends. The car will require a trailor to remove as I would not advise driving this vehicle away in it"s current condition.
