I"ll tell you the best bits now, being 4 new tyres (February 2015, and worth probably more than the car), and MOT"d until Feb 2016. That"s it I"m afraid!
130000 genuine miles on the clock with full service history since my mother bought it 14 years ago. Yes I know that is hard to believe! Car first registered March 2001.
It"s under powered 1600cc engine is very unimpressive but we have had no problems with it. In fact the car has spent no time off the road in its 14 years. Totally reliable in every department. I"ve now probably just tempted fate!
The body. Well, what do you expect for a 14 year old Volvo? All the panels are there and in the right order, and nothing a bit of T Cut and elbow grease couldn"t sort out. The patina it has is sort after in the classic car world. However, there are a couple of scratches on both front wings after being bitten by a horse that T Cut cannot fix.
The interior. Well, with a family, dogs and horses you can imagine what it"s been through, but actually it"s in pretty good nick. We"ve had seat covers on it, but I have to admit the upholstery could do with a really good deep clean.
Extras. It has a cassette player!! Very handy if you have the early years of Now compilations. There is a CD player too so if you are into hi-tech you won"t be disappointed.
What else? Not much. It"s a Volvo estate that we have owned for 10 years, after my Mum upgraded to another Volvo, so it"s been in the family since new. Whilst not a head turner it has been a brilliant car and has been the family work horse ferrying the kids to all their activities. Sadly now is the time for someone else to enjoy the luxuries of this beast and give her a good home for retirement, or perhaps to donate her organs to other younger V40"s so that they too can serve their families like ours has.
