I got this Volvo from a friend two months ago so that I could have an automatic whilst my left foot was in plaster. Since then I have had it MOT"d, had the sump removed and the oil screen cleaned and new oil and filter added and I have had a new camshaft sensor fitted. The car runs well and pulls like a train. It has five good tyres, only a few thousand miles each and it has recently had all five ignition coils replaced.
Things you need to know:
Advisories on the MOT: Minor exhaust leak at rear of system, Oil leak, Play in steering rack inner joint, both near and offside and damage to windscreen (tiny).
Scrapes on front off side and rear near side wings (see photos)
Nearside wing mirror cracked, offside mirror housing cracked (see photos)
Service light has just come on, although at the moment this is intermittent
Alarm system service light comes on occasionally at start.
I don"t seem to be able to change the presets on the radio.
From cold (i.e. first thing in the morning) the car runs beautifully, but after about 10 miles she starts to hunt. This occurs when the engine in not under load, i.e. when cruising along at speed limits such as 30, 40 and 50 mph. At 70mph this is not apparent and I suspect this is because at this speed the engine is under higher load. Blogs and my local garage suspect that this is a transmission (possibly fluid) issue, but as my foot has healed and I am now back in my manual car I do not want to spend more money pursuing this problem. This is why I am selling as spares or repair. If you recognise this problem and know how to fix it cheaply then you can bag yourself a bargain as if fixed this is a great load lugger.
As this car has an MOT you can drive it away.
