My Wife"s beloved Volvo......This car has been exceptional to drive for the few years we have owned it, but times change and we must say a fond farewell. This big barge has served the wife well but it needs a new owner that can lavish it with all the attention it deserves.
The bodywork is in really great condition, no rust spots that I have noticed. The plastics are all in good shape and it"s in the best colour IMHO. It"s been stood a while now though so could do with a proper valet to bring it back to its best. The interior has all the creature comforts you would expect....Leather, electric everything and even a carphone! It"s all in pretty good shape, but as with the body, could do with a proper valet and maybe a leather treatment to fill in the age cracks. There are no rips or tears though, so it can be brought back to as new condition with a bit of effort.
I am no mechanic, and would never claim to be. I know the engine and running gear is starting to show its age and mileage(177k), despite being regularly serviced and well cared for. This was the wife"s car and she used to pile the miles on with her job (assessor), but it was oil serviced every 6000 miles by my favoured mechanical guy and still pulls like a train. Unfortunately the wife had some medical issues and had to give up work, and I already have a car, so it just sat there gathering sap and birdcrap. She kept nagging me to sell it, but I never got around to it, so it sat for way too long. When I finally got around to doing this ad, the battery was flat as a pancake. I jump started it and after a little while, she jumped to action without issue. I have driven it around the block to unfreeze the brakes and all was well. I did notice, when I got back from the spin that it had dropped some oil on the floor while stood, but I have checked the levels and they all seem pretty good so it can"t be serious (can it?).
One thing I must point out though, is that the suspension (4C) is showing a warning light on the dash. The mechanic says there is some misting on one shock absorber, whatever that means! It didn"t make any difference to the driving experience though, so it has been left, and was going to be sorted for the next MOT, which never happened before it went on Sorn, so still remains.
I am selling the car as it, with no warranty or returns, so if you are interested, please feel free to come and check it out before the auction ends and do your own due diligence. Like I already said, I am no mechanic. I just get in a car and go. If it refuses I give it to a man that can till it goes again. There is no longer a valid MOT with the car and as mentioned, it is currently on sorn and has a flat battery. The car will need to be put on a transporter, or the above issues addressed before moving it. I accept no responsibilty for anything illegal after the sale and require all the paperwork in order before it goes anywhere. Please also bear in mind that if I"d have got my lazy ass into gear when the wife asked, this car would have commanded north of £2k. Whoever gets it will, once getting an MOT and sorting out the issues above, make either a lovely car for themselves or a tidy profit.
The car must be picked up within 24hrs of the auction ending, unless agreed beforehand, or a non paying bidder claim will be entered. Cash on collection is the only payment I will accept also.
