I bought this car around 4 year ago as a winter project. In that respect it let me down as very little work needed doing !!I had researched the X300 model before purchasing and the general opinion is that these are the most reliable Jaguar ever built. The last 4 years have convinced me that this is true.The few repairs I’ve done include:Brake pads and brake discs replacedRear bumper mountings replaced.Front suspension ball joints replacedRear shock absorber replacedOil, oil filter and air filters replacedRoof lining replacedRear silencer replacedTwo tyres replacedTwo lambda sensors replaced a few weeks ago for MOT
There are a couple of small issues:The clock doesn’t work (according to the Jaguar Forums this is a very common problem)The drivers seat is worn (see photo)The original radio has been replacedAir Conditioning needs re-gassingOnly one key
Prior to me buying the car it hadn’t moved for many years and although there was no corrosion at all the lacquer had flaked on the boot the roof and the bonnet. Before deciding what to do about it I checked underneath and it was like new with the added bonus that it had never been welded. I cleaned all of the underbody and coated it with high quality underbody treatment before oil spraying underneath.Having done this I decided that the car was worth spending money on and that I would bite the bullet and get it professionally resprayed. This was done 18 months ago and the paintwork is still first class.
When I bought the car it came with two boxes of spares and a rear heated windscreen which are included in this sale.
I know that in the future I’m going to regret selling the car as its value is going up steadily but it’s offered for sale because it’s just not getting the use that it should. My wife and myself are retired and spend a lot of time away from home.
We are based in Biddulph, North Staffs which is just 20 minutes from junctions 15,16,17 and 18 of the M6 motorway.
