For Sale, my Jaguar XK8 1997, which I have owned for the last 9 years and now reluctantly have to sell, as I have purchased another classic car. There are a few minor issues which I will detail, as I"m not in the business of selling dodgy cars, so you will know exactly what you are getting before buying and not afterwards.
With only 51,500 genuine miles on the clock, a full service history and a 10 Month MOT, which advises that the rear shock absorber rubbers need replacing.
Jaguar tell me that the engine was replaced early in its life due to Nikasil issues. I have had the Timing Chains and tensioners replaced, along with the water pump and hoses about 5K ago. The gearbox is good but started to jump out of 1st occasionally, so I purchased a Reconditioned box to go in but the problem has since disappeared, so this will be sold with the car.
The tyres are not very old with loads of tread and the wheels were refurbished a couple of years ago. The front suspension and brakes have been completely rebuilt. The Mohair Hood is almost like new and the Tonneau is present and in good condition. Everything electrical works as it should, save for the remote locking which is occasional.
If you look at the photo of the rear you will see some damage to the boot, this was caused by a piece of plywood flying around during the recent storms. The drivers seat seat cushion stitching is coming apart in a small area.
The car comes with loads of spares that I have collected over the years, including a Recon Gearbox as mentioned, 2 new catalytic converters, exhaust, front struts, electric mirrors and loads more. The Registration number also goes with the car.
