Lotus Elise 111S Series 1. (Relisted due to a non payer.)
2000 MY registered on a "W" plate. (private plate now removed, W391 SCL plate back on V5 updated)
4 previous owners. Owned by myself since February 2017. V5 in my name.
MOT until 17.03.22 ( no advisories)
Very original except for Carbon air intake and filter. ( original filter box included), and improved 52mm alloy throttle body.
Lotus factory fit Janspeed exhaust.
Factory fit Cobra alarm.
Super runner, no known issues, it goes and brakes just like it should.
Very detailed service history from main Lotus agents - receipts for £22500 - ( 31 main dealer invoices including 14 routine invoiced services) - absolutely no expense spared via main dealers. ( Bell and Colvil / H.R. Owen Sports cars / Vindis Lotus / Castle Lotus).
An example of the detailed history which has continued through its life ;Last big Lotus "C" service was 45,972 miles ( £2288.87 - full geometry set up, gear selector change, lights also)
"A" service and cambelt change ( £3603 - included water pump, starter motor, header tank) on the 5/03/15 @ 46,678 miles.
The most recent "A" service at 47,847 10.02.2016, (£708.05 - included new rear tyre, wheel bearing and window regulator) ;
- the car has covered approximately 5000 miles since that factory service.
In the past 4 years, I have changed all the fluids and filters ( @ 50,200 miles) , fitted new rear brake pads, a new handbrake cable, new spark plugs, a new coil pack, new multi function relay, a rear boot cable and kept it running superbly. The alternator has been refitted as the charging lead terminal came off.
The windows are adjusted so they fit as well as they can to the hood.
The footwells had light corrosion due to leaky roof - these have been addressed with POR 15 ( 3 coats) and the Lotus bonded repair panels so they look as new now.
I have the stereo and speakers that came with the car but have removed them as they are not very good. I tend to use my Iphone.
It is a nice car, unmolested and certainly not "DIY" messed with. It presents well with very shiny paintwork. Upon closer inpspection there is some bubbling to the lower sills and doors, and a few age related marks, one visible crack on the rear clam above the exhaust and a chip on the front clam, and scuff on lower RH clam edge.
A new engine was fitted by Vindis Lotus on 21/02/2007 at 26,392 miles due to cambelt issue at the dealership.I have letters from Vindis detailing this.The car has covered just over 26k mile on th new engine.
This car could is a great usable 111S where, ready to be used and enjoyed ; the paint and maybe the suspension could be upgraded over time if you wanted to.
Regrettable sale as I need to upgrade my daily driver as my job role has changed.( 520 / 530d estate or similar to £14k - W.H.Y ?)
I have owned an Elise since my first in 2000, and they are still an absolute dream to drive on the right road. The 111S is a much better drive than a standard non VVC I think, with the close ratio gear box, lowered final drive and top end pull - it really has urgency. Probably the Series 1 sweet spot in terms of a usable drive.
A rare car now, 72 only on the registered from 2000MY on the road, and less than 200 S1 111Ss still on the road in total.( not SORN"ed)
Always garaged and on Optimate charger in my ownership.
