vehicle description:

A fully documented, cherished, properly serviced, thunderous Spyder - guaranteed to put smiles on faces, wind in your hair and a seductive Italian roar in your ears. This is a proper drivers" car!
This well-presented car was purchased new in 1989 from London Maserati Dealer Richard Knight. As a later production run car (one of only 150 imported into the UK), it benefits from the 2.8 litre, V6, 18 valve engine, producing 250bhp. With the twin turbo, it has tremendous power through its ZF five speed manual gearbox. It is an original UK right hand drive import.
Having only had one lady owner from new (who swapped it on and off as her company car), my Father, an Italian car enthusiast, bought it in 2016. He then passed it onto me in 2018. So, whilst the V5 registration shows a number of different owners (7), it has, in reality, only been cared for by two families.
The car has an excellent, regular, full service history and all receipts and documentation, initially at Chagford Street Garage in London and then, continuously from 1993, at UK’s leading Maserati Specialists, McGrath Maserati. It was stored from 2004-2010 and then again 2012-2016. Over £49,000 of billed receipts since 1993, showing that the car has always been well cared for and maintained. The cam belt was changed in 2016, the alternator in 2017. It has never had any prangs to my knowledge.
The stated mileage is 44,800, though the service record shows that a speedometer change took place in 1993.
This car is in sound mechanical and bodywork condition (though not concours) with its black paint mustering up a deep shine. Seats are still in sound condition with no rips or tears. However - the following is an honest assessment of the "bad bits". There are about four "lacquer peel" spots each about the size of a five pence piece around the car. Two of the wheel arches have some early signs of rust bubbling - though these have not come through the paint yet. There is a slightly annoying rattle coming from the gearbox gate (I had this checked out by McGrath who have confirmed it is an annoying rattle as opposed to anything serious at all). The Patek Philip clock is not currently working. The Aircon unit has previously been a little bit temperamental, though is currently working fine!
The car has sailed through the last five MOT tests with no advisories. Last full service in March 2020 but only covered 1,000 miles since then. The black hood works as it should, but would benefit from some cosmetic work on the inside where it has rubbed with the folding mechanism - annoyingly there is also a small tear in the hood about two inches long - but it has not gone all the way through, and it is a "clean cut".
I have recently changed the steering wheel back to the original as supplied with the car (some photos show an aftermarket wood one - the original is brown).
Viewings possible. This car has previously been on Car and Classic - but is listed here on Ebay for the first time.
A very sad and reluctant sale, but I need to fund other projects! She now needs a new owner (and I would suggest an enthusiast) who will love and cherish her and - above all - drive her!
