I recently purchased Berkeley 297 as a long term restoration project,but i realise i dont have the time to do as i am currently restoring another mk1 and i really do need the carport for my daily driver mk2.I began sourcing some of the missing parts.Original cabin brace (replaced)Original stainless sill scuff plates (replaced)Rear mudflaps (sourced)Engine plastic undertray (missing)Drivers window mech (missing)Headlight lenses (missing)
The vehicle has extensive corrosion to both sills and they have been poorly patched over the years,my intention was to replace the whole inner and outer sills as this is the only remedy in my opinion,(they are approx £75/side) this is major work and only financialy viable if you are able to do yourself.
The good.Itis a numbered Berkeley,only 185ish left of the 400.There is a fully stamped service bookStarts and drives ok sounds sweetRear arches have been replaced to a good standardAll tyres recent
Please dont forget this is a restoration project and not an easy fix but i believe it warrants restoration and could possible have good future value if restored correctly.Itis currently on SORN and will need a trailer.It should be viewed so you can decide for yourself,remember cars always look better in the photos so viewing is essential and welcome.Thanks Martin 07775663459Cash sale only
