This car is a Cat D
I do not know what damage the car sustained to make it a cat D there is no obvious signs of any structural damage or repairs of any kind.
Car was brought to me by a customer for a service at the time the timing chain was ratter ling so much it was decided to fit a new one at the same time as the service it also had new disc and pads fitted, three months later the car was back the engine making a intermittent screaming noise from the top end, one I have never heard before( bizarre) other than this it was running smooth
We decided to remove the rocker cover to see if there was any obvious damage to the camshaft and followers etc none was found at this point our only course of action would have been to strip the engine completely and refurbish it, my customer decided this was a route he did not wish to go down has he was going to be trading it in for a new car within weeks anyway.
So I purchased the car from him with the intention of putting it back on the road again the tides of time and a busy workshop have put a stop to my plans
And I do not wish to strip it for parts although I have had the roof for my girlfriends car it was quicker to swap than do the cables at the time and the exhaust for another customer but that’s it.
  All in all a easy repair that I just don’t have time to do too busy with customers cars I know I could break it for spares for more money but it seems such a shame to do so and again I don’t have the time and its now taking up valuable workshop space.
