During the 1980"s COUNTACH replica kits were offered by many different companies; but none of them were as good as the original Paul Lawrenson"s Prova Designs cars which this is. Paul Lawrenson the original founder and CEO of Prova cars has himself sat in, driven and endorsed this car along with the original team from the 80"s that worked for him building these master pieces. This is a last generation model where all the fine tuning had been done to create what is a masterpiece almost indistinguishable from the real car. This created quite a buzz recently when this car was reunited with its maker for the first time in over 30 years and the original PROVA DESIGNS body and tool maker is still going in Darwen lancashire where he works 5 days a week. He was first to ask to drive the car explaining the memories that it rekindled were ledgendary....
This particular vehicle has spent its entire life being built by an automotive engineer who sadly never quite finished the project, meaning that up until recently this car had never been on the road, never been to a show and only ever seen by its original manufacturing team. Its like something that time forgot all ready to be enjoyed by its new owner now that i have had the car finished off to the same original standard and fully MOT"d to a road legal condition.
This Lamborghini COUNTACH has taken 20 years plus to fully finish and luckily the original build was in the 80,s when the DVLA registered these cars as Lamborghini COUNTACH"s - and this is no different as its clearly registered as a Lamborghini on the new V5c showng date of registration as the 28th May 1981.
This stunning vehicle has been painted in the original celulose Rossa Corsa paint and has only covered 30 miles in its life.
It has an old school Renault 2,700cc V6 engine mounted to a strong 5 speed manual gearbox that exits through quad exhausts tuned to give out all the correct noises.
It is built on a reinforced tubular chassis for extra rigidity which is coupled to a superbly finished glass fibre body with the correct roof line and wheel arch shape.
It also has some new technology fitted in the way of a modern alarm system, a MP3/CD player hifi and an all important TV screen with a fully functional rear view reversing camera system.
This car has original Lamborghini, front and rear lights, front screen, side windows and wiper mechanism.
It Looks old and it smells old and it drives old - Total authenticity down to every detail....
The attention to detail on this car is very good and it really does stir the emotions from the time you start the key to the moment you close the scissor style doors, the seats are actually very comfortable and its great fun to drive and be seen in. The car has a cult following that seems to allow all walks of life to appreciate what an iconic super car the Lamborghini was and still is..
For the absolute pureists out there i have an original bootlid in colour for this car ( i have pics with it fitted ) without the huge rear wing giving the car a totally different authentic early LP400 look ....
This car is ideal for, advertising, films and TV work which its currently been booked out at £300 per hour to stand stationary ..
