Porsche 911 Supersport (Option 491) in Guards Red, Same body and extras as the 930 Turbo.
This car is a great example of the classic 911, and a special version being the Supersport. It was in storage for a number of years before being sold on to be recommissioned and Mot"d, which is when I purchased it, and it has sat in a garage ever since, although I have had some work done including an engine service and replacement exhaust (Stainless Steel).
I would say it is in very good original condition, with a few age related things that could be done to make it better, such as the inside of the targa top which needs tidying up, the windscreen wipers which stop when you turn them off (instead of resetting to where they started).
I know the tracking needs doing as the steering wheel is slightly off centre when it goes in a straight line, but I will try to do that in the week.
Also, the clutch is hydraulic, and the pedal slowly sinks and so you have to reset it by pulling it back with your foot. Although you get used to doing it, this is apparently an easy fix as the master cylinder needs replacing and I will try to get that done this week also.
As far as corrosion is concerned, I had the car professionally inspected prior to me buying it and this 911 seems to have escaped any bad rust, the usual places such as kidney bowls and floor are very solid. The sill covers (that bolt on) are the only things that have had a problem, and have been repaired by the previous owner with Fibreglass. Personally I would have these restored or replaced..
I have the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, Log Book, A folder of its history, The original booklets and service book with plenty of Porsche Stamps.
There are 2 Keys and 2 alarm Fobs, although the second key seems to have lost its light bit at some point.
This is a very reluctant sale of my beautiful car. I bought it only last year, and feel it needs to go to a new home as the garage where it is kept is being knocked down, I don"t want to keep it under a "tarp", we are moving house and we have a baby due!! Maybe some things are just not meant to be!!
I will be happy to ask any questions, or take any viewings. I cannot let drivers come over for a joyride but can take anyone out who is genuinely interested, or allow access for any professional inspections.
