“Mechanically this car is perfect, cosmetically not far off. There is NO rust anywhere, there are one or two scratches a dent to the drivers door, above the mirror (also damaged the mirror which I had to replace) and a shallow pin dent to the passenger side. I've had our local Peugeot specialists check the car over, giving it a full service, reset the tappets, adjusted the brakes and fitted a cambelt. I also fitted 4 brand new Michelin Energy tyres replacing the original (and very perished!) Michelin MXT's. It was a dealer demonstrator to Graham & Bowness Peugeot until the previous lady owner purchased it in February 1994, owning it until July 2014, when I bought it. This is a rare car for a number of reasons - The UK launch date was 20th March 1993 with this car being registered 6th April 1993, making it one of the first off the production line at Coventry and possibly one of the earliest surviving today. Most XTs were 1.8 Automatics, this however is a 1.6 Manual.”

Hi and welcome to my listing for this 1993 ‘K’ Peugeot306 1.6 8v XT.  The car is something a bit special for a number of reasons.
1 – When was the last time you saw a K registered 306?  The Peugeot 306 was launched here in the UK on the 20th of March 1993, built in Coventry, it proved to be quite successful from day one.  This particular car was registered to Graham & Bowness Peugeot, Carlisle on 6th April 1993, just over 2 weeks from the cars launch.  I believe this could be one of the earliest surviving306’s on the roads today.   2 – There aren’t many cars which have only covered 33,000 miles in 21 years!  I have almost full MOT history to back this up (listed below), and some stamps in the service history booklet, however these were only for the first few years of the cars life, as the previous owner later took it to a family members garage.  Receipts were provided each time, but have since been misplaced sadly. 
3 – It has only had the supplying garage and two owners (including me) in 21 years – the previous owner had the car from February 1994 until July 2014.  Pretty impressive considering it’s age!   Graham & Bowness used this car as a showroom demonstrator, it was, at the time, the highest specification 306 you could get, being fitted with power steering, electric windows all round, electric and heated door mirrors, remote central locking, premium velour upholstery and optional metallic paintwork, it is something a bit special and is a very, very comfortable car to drive.
Mechanically this 306 is fantastic, the engine starts first time, I have had it checked over and serviced by a local Peugeot specialist, they also adjusted the brakes, fitted new handbrake cables, reset the tappets and fitted a new cambelt, I have recently fitted a brand new battery to ensure it continues to start first time.  All gears engage smoothly, the clutch is good, the brakes are great and the engine is very responsive and has more than enough power to use if and when needed.  Also it handles well thanks to a brand new set of Michelin tyres.
Cosmetically it is very good for it’s age.  The ‘Steel Grey’ metallic paintwork has a nice deep shine to it, however there are one or two minor blemishes or dents, but, again, considering it’s age, it is great.  All 4 original 14 Inch ‘Club’ wheel trims have benefitted from a refurbishment and look brand new.  The original dealer sticker, tax disc holder and keyrings are all in great condition, however the numberplates had deteriorated, so I had them reproduced by DMB Graphics, to maintain the cars originality.   On to the interior, which is also in good condition with very little wear and no tears.  It would benefit from a good clean, however I daren’t attempt this as I’m worried I’ll damage something!  I think the rear seats have only been used during my ownership!  The original Blaupunkt radio is now back in the car after being repaired – the CD Player pictured was just a temporary measure.  All 6 speakers work and they work VERY well, fantastic sound quality for a 90s stereo!   I did plan on keeping this car for a very long time and taking it to more shows (Received many admiring comments at Dalemain on 17th August) however my circumstances have sadly changed, and as much as I love this car, it has to go!  I have the full brochure pack which was given out to potential customers in 1993 – this will go with the car.
