Welcome to this rare listing...
These conversions just don"t come up for sale, if you"ve searched for this then you probably know that already
This is the second diesel I"ve converted over the years, this time around it was extremely difficult to source the conversion solenoids etc, once again I know I"m going to regret selling this one but unfortunately I"ve had to buy a all rounder daily for my commute. I built this 106 to keep and no expense has been spared. id jump in this car now and drive to Europe without questioning its reliability
It has the best fuel solenoids you can get for this conversion, originally sold by BioTuning, 10mm feed, 8mm return an purge, It is plumbed in so no veg oil contaminates the diesel tank, filter and lines
Start on diesel, drive away, once temp gauges from the veg oil heat exchangers get to the correct temp, switch over to 100% veg oil from the second tank. few miles before your destination you can switch to purge; this purges the veg lines and solenoids with diesel to stop any freezing and gumming up over night
Also has a FaceT primer pump which can be switched on if you were to get an air leak, not that ive had one but is the best fail safe, will allow you to keep driving instead of breaking down and having to prime the system by hand
The marine tank is a 42 litre, the diesel tank is a 45 litre. it will do anywhere between 500-600 miles per tank. thats over a 1000 miles combined. I commute 40 miles each day and cant remember the last time i put fuel in. there is still currently half a tank of diesel and half a tank of veg oil
The veg tank has a fuel gauge but is currently intermittent, its a cheap Chinese fuel gauge and may need changing. fuel gauge isn"t needed as you can keep an eye on the tank anyway, just a nice little touch
10mm feed hose through the car from the veg tank and 8mm return, Battery relocated to the boot in a proper battery box, solenoids are in the engine bay where the battery originally was
Both the diesel fuel filter and veg fuel filter use the same spin on version, so when changing you can get both from the registration plate, keeps servicing simple
The 1.5 diesel engine is fantastic, these are bombproof, it is on the button hot or cold. starts instantly even if parked up for however long, It is currently fitted with the standard Lucas fuel pump which are known to not like veg oil but i sourced a pre ecu Bosch fuel pump a while back which I"ve kept there for if or when needed. this Bosch pump is supplied with the car should you ever need it and is extremely rare. with the Bosch pump it will go forever on 100% veg oil
89000 genuine miles
MOT April 2022

Brand new dealer replica number plates fitted
Gearbox is perfect, for one of these it is tight with no sloppiness, i also own a 106 GTi and this diesel drives a lot nicer, with 89k on the clock its clearly had a easy life
I have done a new cambelt kit and water pump at 84k, It has brand new Apex shocks all round with 50mm front Apex lowering springs, its not stiff or harsh, makes the car a lot more driveable and useable in corners compared to standard
It is also fitted with my 106 GTi original 14 alloy wheels which I"m reluctantly leaving on, it has pretty much new matching Nankang tyres all round and the wheels were refurbed last year, unfortunately the front passengers side is now kerbed but the rest are still immaculate
I"ve just fitted brand new fog lights although these need wiring up, comes with original blanks if you want to revert it
Oil and filter change done only 500 miles ago, new thermostat housing fitted this year from Germany (i also have another one for a spare) also new thermostat fitted at the same time, complete coolant system was flushed and renewed
Everything works as it should, heater is great, car is nippy and keeps up with modern traffic no problem, its solid and doesn"t suffer the usual 106 rot, boot floor is good, slight signs showing on passenger inner arch and there"s one hole in the drivers inner wing via engine bay, can be seen and is minor for one of these, jacking points etc and spot on
Rear tailgate window is tinted badly but serves a purpose, if bothered you could easily peel this off, condition wise it does have dents, marks and a crack in the rear bumper. but at the same time looks tidy and presentable. it is what it is
Think that"s about it, any questions drop me a message, viewings and test drives welcome. I"m happy to show how it all works
The veg kit has a second heat exchanger in the engine bay which still needs plumbing in, very easy but still haven"t got round to it, if I can I will. its not needed and most people only run one heat exchanger. but its there so worth doing
As for faults,. on very rough roads there is a knocking on the front wishbone bush, wishbones and arb bushes will probably benefit from replacing if you want it perfect. tracking has recently been done and drivers nice and true. no pulling or anything
rocker cover also leaks ever so slightly, I"ve cleaned it off a couple of times to check. takes a few months but eventually starts looking oily. easily done on these
