vehicle description:
Welcome to my listing for my 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0 Turbo with STI extras.
I bought this Subaru from a good friend of mine who owned the car for many years, and had taken the car for its MOT last year - it failed and he parked it up and bought a new BMW instead.
To help him out and to give me a winter project i purchased the vehicle from him a few months ago and set about correcting the few MOT failures with the intention of selling the car to recover my costs once the MOT test had been completed.
The jobs required to obtain a valid MOT certificate were as follows :
2 new rear tyres 1 x number plate bulb Headlamp aim adjustment A minor crack in the centre box of the exhaust - required welding up New front brake discs, new front brake pads, new rear brake shoes, new rear brake pads and new rear brake discs (from where it had been stood the brakes had corroded) A brand new 3 year warranty battery
I had the work completed by a local motorsport company who did a first class job - the car then sailed through its MOT with no advisories - i have the certificate for the new keeper. Unfortunately the work cost me a little more than first thought as this particular Subaru has had a large STI brake upgrade so the discs and pads were very large and very expensive.Reading through the history on the car there has also been some other enhancements carried out - these are as follows :
Whiteline 22mm adjustable rear antiroll bar - by Spoox Motorsport Silicone coolant hose kits - by Spoox Motorsport Uprated walbro fuel pump - by Torque of the Devil K&N air filter - by Torque of the Devil ECU remap - 281.5 bhp / 308lbs/ft torque - by Torque of the Devil Trackstar Tracker - by Traffic Master STI Front Upper Strut Brace STI Brembo Brake Upgrade front & rear Original Prodrive Headlamps with HID bulbs Lightweight alloy engine pulley kit Large bonnet scoop STI driving lamps and lamp covers Pioneer touchscreen headunit Full stainless steel Blitz Nurspec exhaust system Decatted headers
The price of the parts on this Impreza are worth more than the asking price - however the car is now roadworthy and therefore my project is complete.I have actually held off listing the car for a few weeks as i have really enjoyed driving it around. I have covered around 1500 miles it in since its MOT.I have noticed that the front wheels could do with balancing as they can vibrate a little at motorway speeds (nothing around town though) and the engine management light comes and goes - i have been told this is a result of the cats being removed - if the code is cleared the light stays off for weeks at a time.
The car is in very good condition - it could do with a deep clean - i gave it a quick wash prior to its MOT but cleaning cars is not really my thing and so someone skilled at this kind of thing could make it look a million dollars.I think i have covered everything - the towing eye, locking wheel nut keys are all present, the V5 certificate is present and in my name. There is one key and one remote central locking fob. There is loads of paperwork, history, receipts and all old MOT"s. I have had the car checked and it is HPI clear, has no finance outstanding and the mileage is verified - but please feel free to check all of that yourself. One last thing ...... the car is very loud, which sounds great but i live in a very quiet little village and it turns a few too many heads - i have managed to buy a blitz "bung" for the tailpipe which reduces the noise quite a lot, it does restrict the performance a little BUT does make the car more usable. This bung is very easy to remove and in no way a permanent addition.
Any questions or inspections welcomed, i have tried to ensure that everything is covered - i have priced this Subaru to sell and it even has half a tank of petrol with it as it didnt use half as much as i thought it would. This is a very cheap Subaru Impreza with low mileage for year and a full 12 months MOT.I am contactable on 07967 100849 - but please keep the contact times sensible.Thank you very much for looking at my advert.
