vehicle description:
2002 Porsche 996 Turbo Manual (X50 Package - 450BHP from the factory.)
The 996 Porsche Turbo X50 was the step between the first Porsche Turbo and the Turbo S within the 996 shape. With the X50 pack Porsche upgraded the turbos and engine mapping producing a staggering 450BHP and very acheivable top speeds of 191mph/307kph. In 2005 Porsche took the X50 fitted carbon ceramic brakes all round and badged it as the Turbo S, so arguably this is for all intents and purposes a Turbo S (just without the Carbon Ceramic brakes).
Currently the car is sat on 996 GT3 wheels. The wheels were changed by a previous owner, I have been looking to source a set of OEM wheels however I"ve been perfectly happy with the GT3 wheels so haven"t made this a priority. I am willing to source the OEM wheels to include in the sale at which point I will sell the GT3 wheels seperately.
The overall condition of the car is near-perfect. Paint work is near concourse having been protected under a vinyl wrap for the past few years. The wrap was professionally removed through 8 hours of labour at The Fast Factory, London. The interior of the car is also very high quality with a couple of minor wear marks on the centre console which is very common with 996"s. The seats have been fully refurbished and the interior of the car has been detailed in November 2015. All four wheels were also refurbished at this time and remain in perfect condition.
The car has a few nice factory upgrades including the navigation package (complete with an up-to-date software disc), BOSE fibre optic sound system including subwoofer consealed behind the rear folding seats, auto dimming mirror, auto tilting mirror when reverse parking, reverse parking sensors and Alcantara roof lining.
The car is currently sat at 62,000miles with a full service history. The 3.6 996 Turbo has been widely regarded as one of the highest quality engines produced by Porsche with some 996"s now achieving well over 150,000 miles with regular servicing.
I purchased the car from a friend who was unexpectedly made redundant earlier this year. The turbo was a dream car for me since I was a teenager and has been an absolute pleasure to own. I have a small collection of performance cars from the same era and my only reason for wanting to move the car on is to make way for a supercar I have my eye on.
Please note, that I am in absolutely no rush to sell this car. Like all rarer/specialist 911s It is an appreiciating classic. The low mileage, the fact that it"s an X50 and the overall condition of the car means the value will only ever keep increasing so if anything, it should be within my interests to keep hold of it.
The car can be viewed by appointment in Chiswick, West London.
