Welcome to the sale of my 2007 (56) Subaru 2.5 WRX SL Prodrive Hawkeye
This is a genuine 2.5 WRX Prodrive with all the certificates and paperwork as proof from the original registration of sale. Originally supplied by Subaru Oaken in Wolverhampton on 18/09/06.
Please do not confuse this car with the usual neglected and abused rubbish you see around. This is a genuine WRX Prodrive that has only seen the likes of 2 mature owners. This car has had no expense spared and comes complete with every document and receipt ever spent, totalling to a near £5000. In the last 10 years this car has only ever failed one MOT due to a number plate bulb. All extended work has been carried out bySubaru professionals with Subaru original parts, which is testament to how great this car is.
If you know Subaru’s then you know it’s all about the engine. Featuring the bulletproof EJ225 2.5L Flat 4 Turbocharged petrol engine, with the aid of permanent 4-wheel drive, this car is great to drive with fantastic responsive performance.
Don’t let the mileage put you off, the service book is overflowing with service stamps and has every document and receipt since purchase, which proves just how well the engine has been looked after. It’s had a full timing belt kit and water pump changed twice and a full service every 10,000 miles from new to date. All services were carried out by the main dealer and Scoobyworld in Loughborough. In respect to it’s comprehensive service history, the engine runs and drives faultlessly.
As standard, the 2.5 WRX EJ255 is 224bhp, however with this being a WRX Prodrive Type UK, the power was increased to 265bhp from factory, which makes this car stand out from the rest. On 24/05/12 a very expensive VF35 Turbo was fitted by Roger Clark Motorsport 24/05/12 along with all the running gear to match an STI and to compliment the factory fitted Prodrive ECU. Only original Subaru parts were used which amounted to a small fortune (receipt a proof). Subsequently, the rolling road print out shows the car outputting an astonishing 313.5bhp, which beats any Subaru STI or Spec D in this range.
Apart from an Afterburner vortex back box, this car is completely standard which means no de-cat or cat back system, not even a dump valve, which shows the maturity of the previous owners.
The fate of most Subaru"s reside in them being blown up as a result from cheap aftermarket parts and amateurs messing around with something Subaru invested millions of pounds and many years developing, which is why this car has been tuned to last and not for maximum horse power.
My Subaru drives and pulls straight, true and as it should. The 5-speed gearbox is nice, tight and smooth through gear changes. The clutch has a strong bite point and is where it should be. They’re no knocks, bangs, smoke, funny noises or surprises.
The engine is always warmed up for 3 minutes prior to departure and warmed down in the same fashion on return. As this is a performance car, only high octane (fuel Tesco 99, BP Ultimate, or Shell V Power) is used.
This Prodrive model comes with the upgraded luxury leather interior and heated front seats straight from the factory. You only get this extra in the STI and Spec D models, not your standard WRX. The Interior is immaculate with no rips, burns, stains or funny smells in the seats.
The exterior is fantastic for an 11 year old car, which is a rarity for some Subaru’s. This car also features the the factory fitted Prodrive front bumper, rear bumper and side skirts. All original Subaru wheels, with nearly new tyres, ready for that road trip with the family.
I recently treated my Subaru to brand new front disks and pads, so stopping will never be an issue.
