If you are looking for towing car with muscle, then look no further than this Sangyong REXTON II. Powered by the rock solid Mercedes 2.7L diesel with matching 5 speed automatic gearbox, it is more than capable of handling a 3.5T caravan or trailer with ease.
This car did several journeys to Romania and stayed there for 18 months or so before returning to the UK in 2015. I purchased it in January 2016, serviced it with oil change and filters etc. Had new MOT and alternator fitted at the same time.(check out the price of an alternator). It runs, drives and stops as it should and everything works except the mirror control switch that seems to have a mind of its own. However the mirrors will fold in and out OK when parking but will not tilt etc.
The mileage is at 132600 at the moment but I am still using the car. Paintwork is very good and some very minor age related markse. Fitted tow bar and working electrics. Working radio, sat nav and drivers memory seat etc. Air con is icey cold. 1st registered on the 21st December 2007 and will come on it"s original 57 plate and not my personal plate as in the pictures. Any inspection on or off a ramp with collection from Taunton TA1. I am open to sensible offers with cash or bank transfer only before release. Please don"t bother me with the scams or silly offers, I"ve seen them all and totally ignore them.
Please note about the towing capability of this car.
In my previous listing, some people have asked if the vehicle can in fact tow 3.5 tonnes as the vehicle plate and V5 show only 3.2 tonnes. To clarify, the vehicles gross weight with a braked trailer is 5.960 tonnes. I have weighed the car at a trading standards weighbridge and the tare weight shows 2.040 tonnes. Subtract to tare from the gross weight and this shows that the vehicle will in fact tow 3.920 tonnes, well in excess of the legal British limit of 3.5 tonnes.
The only reason for it"s sale is the horrendous cost of insuring towed third party owned trailers fully comprehensively @ some £6k a year. Be warned towing third party owned trailers is an absolute minefield.
