Hello and welcome to this auction for my Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon 2.0 JTS Lusso in metallic grey. The reason I am selling is that the clutch failed on me a couple of weeks ago and that has spurred me onto buying something bigger. I believe someone who knows what they are doing can fix it and get it running again, I would love it to go to someone with passion to run it again!.
You are buying as sold as seen. I am not a mechanic (otherwise I might have fixed it by now) but I will try to list the condition and the issues as best I can. This is a 12 year old car so expect it to be functioning commensurate with age.
The Good:All important cam belt replaced Jan 2013 at 62000miles.Full leather interior as part of the top of the range Lusso trimIsofix anchorages in two rear outboard seatsCruise controlProfessionally refurbished teledial wheels - though the laquer has started to peel on one of the them.Engine starts and runs fine (I checked today 04/10/15 and started first time of the button) - never missed a beat. The Bad:Clutch recently failed. Pedal depresses to floor and doesn"t return. I tried bleeding it to no avail. Could be slave cylinder. Upper and lower front wishbones - bushes have been on the way out for a while but car is still eminently driveable.Radio - Doesn"t work. Power to amp and head unit as display comes on but no sound (occasionally comes on so leads me to think wiring issue).A couple of minor dents I think two at most - not really noticeable unless you look.Minor corrosion starting in underbody noticed in last serviceOne of the number plate lights hangs downHeadlamp washers inoperative in all the time I"ve owned it.Front offside side-light - bulb is out but due to bulb holder being slightly broken. garage have been unable to replace. Not an MoT failure.Small spots on bonnet and roof where lacquer has been removed - hard to notice unless you look for it and difficult to show in pictures and the car does come up nice after a cleanLarge scratch on offside of the front bumper.Keys can be temperamental though normally indicates battery in the fob needs replacing.
The Beautiful
The looks and poise of this car are very striking - there is very little on the road like it! The seatbelt buckles in the rear have their own leather stowage pouches!
